yepo ther the parts im building got the water cutter making the plats and hangers now ill make all he bushers
how did you attache the hangers like original on the pipe with bearings and bush or just bolts

yeah good question
floating ally bush with the hangers flushed up against it either side
if you build like this dont forget to grease inbetween the hangers and the bush- i was quite worried it would wear but torn it all down after 5000km for inspection and barely a rub mark.
alternatively tig the hangers up to the bush so it all rotates as a single unit like OEM
other thing is the steering stem, check your distance to make sure the bottom of the steering head clears the lower section of the triple tree
i think the tapered roller bearing on the stem base should be spaced up 2mm- mine is very very close without spacing and its pinching the rubber grease seal between the triple tree and the steering head
im running a 7kg/mm rear shock spring. i think 8.5kg spring would have been a better choice.
Well im running it the same as stock
Spinning up a new bearing house welding on the new hangers
So will look like the stock set up but the hangers will be longer
How did you go with ride hight did you make the adjustable bottom mount or fixed if so how much adjustment you get from it

are you using andre's drawings?
i used his fixed position mounting and am happy with it, the swingarm at full travel doesnt hit on anything.
and i wouldnt want to jack the rear up, i originally set up with the forks -10mm in the triples, went to -5mm and now have them flushed..
imho even with forks -5mm the geometry is unstable, bike wants to fall into corners at low speeds and didnt give me a confident feeling at high speeds.
its a personal preference thing its hard to describe- im in the habit of riding off the front of the bike, but it likes to ridden with weight toward the back or something like that
well i have brought a fair bit in the last few days
Got my tapered needle rollers on the way from the UK so i can fit my RGV stem into the RZ frame without changing steering head stems,
I needed to find some 48mm OD 25mm ID and 48mm OD and 30mm ID bearings and found them here if anyone needs some
Individual Taper roller Bearings
Great to deal with and fair shipping charges
got a set of wheels and Axls spacers callipers (pretty much everything i need for the front and rear end.
I ended up with 2 wheels so im going to sell the one left over
Got a pair of Driven Superbike bend street bars with risers.
have been playing arond with placement of stuff seeinf if it will all fit
And it will .
Next week the great Frame weld is happing

It is an unawnsered Question to me and I post it here to see why:
Why most still use the steel frame RZ for their custom builds?.
Why not consider the RG 250 frame and rolling stock or put your RGV banana rear end and upside down forks in this much under rated aluminium frame if you like?
The RG 250 frame is a close copy of the RG500 for a start and engines, forks etc just about fit straight in!
Plus the RG frame can handle the power with excelent road manners!
well i do have a RGV frame here
But i decided to build a naked street fighter and I feel the look is better with the old steet tube frame .
Its not going to be raced, taken on track days or ridden at 110 % on road . im building this for fun little runs to my favirote coffe places on sundays.
So it was more abouts looks than razor sharp steering and stiff as a corpse chassis.
As someone that spent a few years racing 250 producion and 600 SS class i know the advantage of a stiff chassis. But on the road i feel something with a little flex is more FUN to ride as slower speeds.
And this bike is all about fun
RGV frame is Not what I am asking about, RG W 1984 vintage.

well there is one other point
I SUX AT WELDING ALIMINUM LOL
so much easyer for me to deal with mild steel fab
why not a tzr250 2ma frame far better then the rg frame again and can keep it all yamaha and prob rego with no questions asked .....the prob i have heard with the rg frames is the fact that they are set up to run a 16inch front wheel...u have to shut and cat the frame geometry to run 17..just what i have heard and seen...alot of bucket racers do this...
Hey, looking good so far.
Will be watching with interest.
Came across this pic quite a while back.
Wounds Heal, Bones Mend, Chicks Dig Scars and Glory Lasts Forever...
well little update
Rear subframe is on and the bottom shock mount is made will have the top in this weekend so will have a complete roller
