    Help with buying a rs125

    Hi Guys,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right section for this so sorry if wrong area. As mentioned in the welcome area ive got my test for r-e licence on wenesday, hovever it seems as though a lot of people selling their bikes won't just let a noob jump on for a test ride. Completely understandable, however for me I know no one in Perth with their licence having only just moved here to take it for a quick ride to check if ok!

I've found a rs125 2003 in thornle and a rs125 2009 in north beach which look ok, anyone willing to meet me at either place to take it for a quick ride and help me with checking the bike over? Or alternately anyone got any suggestions for checking over a bike whilst not being able to ride.

I checked out the guide in the for sale area which gave me some good tips.

Bottle of scotch/bourbon/case of beer in it for anyone happy to come out and help.

    Cheers guys.

I'm a bit time poor at the moment but know the bikes reasonably well. Happy to review the ads and call the sellers for you to save some effort all 'round.

Hope you know what you're getting yourself into...

I'd go for the Thornlie bike mate. Pretty positive it's a PSBers bike as well. Looks tidy, think it's been advertised for awhile. Guy's done a top end at 9K which is early. I paid more for less than that

Thanks Guys. Much appreciated. Have sent you a PM HK31A.

Ninjaa, yeah i agree regarding the Thornlie one, looks tops, It actually looks just like the RS50 I had overseas lol.

Hope you know what you're getting yourself into...
haha me too! the RS (which ever one i get) is gonne be my hobby bike so no doubt will bug you over time for info. I rebult my RS50 when I was overseas and from memory the RS50 and RS125 share a lot in common.

Thanks to PSB'ers for the help. Turns out the owner of the RS125 in Thornlie was also a PSB'er and now rides a sweet looking R1. Its been looked after really well and after the other three i looked at over the weekend was by far the better maintained.

Picking the bike up tomorrow . Next task, Arrow Exhust.

    Todays Task. Buy Helmet

Anyone got any advice regarding me riding this bike from Thornlie up to Currambine, would I be better to take it up the freeway to give it a Blast/Clean, or should i stick to the back roads? Got the missus on stand by with the ramps and the ute incase all goes pearshaped

Thanks, will take plenty of pics tomorrow Gotta get more time in the saddle with this clutch slipping thing, just encourages quick take offs .

Thanks mate, was a great ride home. 40minutes of smiles. I still can't wipe the grin off my face.. I was expecting to feel a bit stiff tonight, but nothing as yet.

Cheers, Ninja, will PM you about the details, going to tee up a time to check out Loud's one as well so will let you know. Whats wrong with your bike? why does it say RS125 (half) ???

Great ride home form Thornlie to Currambine, That power band really packs a punch, a few times i forgot what i was doing and ended up a little bit toooo far over the speed limit (DOH!) anyway only had a few effwits complety cut me off on the freeway, but was so bloody alert I think i knew they were going to do it before they even knew they were going to change lane
