    Help needed..rs125 side stand

Hi all, last week the side stand on my 2010 rs125 decided to come down while riding and hit the road with a fair bit of force. Why it happened in the 1st place i'm unsure but in the process the springs that hold it up came off.I've got new springs but when mounted up it falls off after kicking the stand up and down a few times. Can someone help me out by taking a couple pics of hows the springs mount up to the stand and post them up please?? Thanks in advance

The bike comes with a 2 year warranty which should sort you out.

The engine should have shut off when the stand came down. And the stand probably fell down as a result of the springs falling off, not the other way around. The question is why did they come off - perhaps the lug that holds them somehow broke. I'll try and take a picture later today and post it up.

Yeah the engine shut down so the side stand kill switch is still working. On closer inspection i've found the small retaining knob on the upper spring perch has snapped off...maybe this happened when the stand has come down hit the road at 110km/h and then this upper perch has hit the expansion chamber and made a smal dent. If you could post up some pics loud it would b great, thanks.Oh yeah nearest dealer is 7hrs away... so would like 2 work out whats happened b4 giving them a call.

Sorry, didn't get to the bike before it was dark last night, I'll try again this afternoon.

Stands don't just fall down. There's no reason for that retaining knob to fall off either, even if the stand hit the ground. I'd say it snapped, allowing the stand to hit the ground, and I'd say it was the spring going Ping that dented the expansion chamber.

Also get yourself a Haynes manual - it has all sorts of pictures and information that you'll find useful.

Just took that photo but will have to wait until I'm at a computer later to upload it. Pretty simple, lower spigot on the stand holds one end of the spring, the pivot bolt looks to hold the other end of the spring - though it's a special looking bolt with a built in retainer for the spring.
