    Help required please!

    Hey guys
was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I need to make up some footpegs for my rs250 track bike as they keep getting used up.
Does anyone have a metal lathe that I could use to spin up a handful?
It kills me to see woodcraft ones at 25 bucks each plus 50 p&h..
At the meet on Sunday I used a stock one turned 90 deg so it didn't move and added grip with the aid of a hacksaw.
I'm trying to look professional so someone might sponsor me but at the moment it's function over looks.
Thanks for reading and even more thanks if you could help out!
    Cheers

check out some of the guys bikes at the track, some of the race bikes are running bits of rubber hose cable tied to the pegs, function over form every time. A mini metal lathe can be had locally for about $700, might be a worthwhile investment, or a second hand one even. Or go to the source, get some in from china in bulk.
If its got tits or wheels, it going to give you trouble.

lol having snapped my footpeg off coming around a bend today, iv done some quick ebay shopping and found there is a multitude of footpegs that would be suitable from ten bucks, most around the 15 big-uns mark. More power to ya if your going to lathe up your own ones, but fifteen bucks for a pair of them, gotta ask what your time plus materials is worth...

    this is what im chasing
AF1 Racing : Aprilia Parts and Accessories: Woodcraft Replacement Footpeg RS250
as you can see the oem control pivots on the peg, which doesnt allow many other ones to be used.
Had a quick look but couldnt see anything mate

You could raise the ride height so that it doesn't grind them into nothing.
The universe likes speed. Don't delay. Don't second guess. Don't doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, act.

Ebay for Footpeg Adapter. lots of ones on there that should either directly or with a slight mod make any cheap footpegs work, might push them out by an inch though. If your going through them that regularly and its just for race use, i wonder if you could find some heavy walled internally threaded ally tube, or even just the ally tube of the right thickness and some care in a drill press to drill and tap that thread into it, looks like theres f all to em, but yes now i see your dilemma as far as cheap peg options, you cant fit a normal peg so they have your ass on a monopoly to buy their ones... different rearsets could wind up cheaper in the long run if your going through that many footpegs

That peg suits the oem lever, which are easy to come by.
I have different backing plates which change the position, as I was grinding my toe and my knee at the same time. I had one fall of due to lack of threadlock, one got taken by a gixer thou at the club meet pile up, ground another to a nub a week ago when I sent the scooter up the track on a Friday racecraft.
I don't want to use a adapter to the oem flexipeg as these move under me when positioning for a corner.
The plan was to get a length of ally rod, machine the part where the lever spins on, knurl some grip, tap the end and repeat x 10. Cue nice generous individual with laythe....
