Introducing Pepper
Well after looking for a VJ21 rgv250 for near on 6 months... I can say that good things come to those that wait.
Not only have I found a VJ21, but it's a genuine pepsi model.
It does need a reasonable amount of work to get it to it's former glory... but at the end of the day if I had to pick an rgv250 to restore, the pepsi is definitely the one to do.
I picked her up pretty cheap (2k) and she'll be coming home tuesday night.
Cheers

Who's signature do you have on the tank, can't quite see it clearly?
Strokers are definitely startingf to get trendy again..nice pick up for a new project. What plans do you have project wise?
Cheers Warp

Kevin Schwantz. All pepsis have them, it's a sticker on the tank.
Complete original restoration on this baby.

Looks great, that's a classic model. Keep us up to date with the restoration.

Bunyack, everything mate. All the important stuff is in good nick, the motor has good compression but a few k's on her (60k). To give you an idea I estimate I will need to throw about another 4-6 grand at this one to get it to better than new condition. The problem with bikes this age and in this condition is that everything tends to be worn out, suspension, rubber lines, hoses, bearings etc etc... but like I say, these are few and far between and is definitely worth restoring.
Taz, you can only hope he's green eh

Nice find there Lee, first time I was on an RGV it was on one of these.
Now all you need is a VJ23 to make the collection complete!

I'm not allowed any more bikes. She who must be obeyed has put her foot down now. She was a bit surprised when I told her I had bought this one, she didn't think that I'd pick it up so cheap.
Cheers

I had a mate who bought one of these when it fist came out ('89-ish). He wanted to do 250 Proddy racing an couldn't wait for the race glass. Took it out at a very wet Oran Park and all but destroyed it
It was his pride and joy for about 10 laps!

Lee, you said the Pepsi's are pretty rare. How many do you reckon would be in WA? <10?

Dunno mate, this is the second one that I have seen in Perth since I got into bikes. I would like think there are more than 10 floating around but its hard to say, there are hardly any normal VJ21s around let alone pepsis so it might not be far off the mark.

Well she's home and snug with all the other bikes now.
Credit to shio for the name, I just couldn't think of a good one.
I'll start thinking about restoring her later on this year probably... depending on parts etc.

dude, are you going to leave enough RGVs in town for ME to buy one one day?
You're single-handedly driving the market price up!

Bit of an update
I've decided to start a blog of all the bikes. I know some are following their progress... this should make it a little easier for me to document the build ups.
Pepper is online now on the rgv250 forums ( Pepper). It should be publically available.
I'll be adding the other bikes soon.
Cheers
