Cool Just got my first bike today! 2010 RS125 two stroke!

just got my first bike today, 2010 RS125 two stroke paid $8300 .. .not cheap for a 125cc ha?

little bit nervous when picking up the bike, coz it's 2 stroke, still need to practice a bit more..steering and braking is fantastic! I love the bike, very light and got enough power for the 125cc.. do you guys have any tips on maintaing this bike? any one in sydney here?

    Congrats, nice bike.
I'm stoked your in sydney tho!!
got stuck behind one of these on a PSB ride last week.
I've lost all my high frequency hearing capabilities and am thinking of cracking straight into chemo, after all the rich exhaust smoke i consumed...

    haha
have fun with it, i'm sure you will!

Hence my signature I'd say sorry but we both know I love it.

Check the plug that's in already, I think it'd be a '9'. So get a BR9EIX for better performance than the EG.

    Nice choice by the way

Well done buddy. Either a 9 or 10 plug is good for it. I ran motul fully synthetic 2stoke oil. Maintenance is minimal and do it according to the book.
I would recommend upgrading your exhaust to a jolly moto or arrow full system as it opens the motor up a bit.
Take your time running it in and always let it warm up to one bar before riding.
Ride the clutch loads on takeoff or you'll bog down.
Don't be afraid of blue smoke on start up, you'll know you engine is getting oil.
Expect a slight bogginess and cough at around 5-6k rpm, this is normal.

I live in Sydney and recently sold my rs, same as yours, and got a cbr600. But if you have any trouble, drop us a line!
    You get from Bikebiz parra??

How does it compare to the ninja 250r? Not sure what to get, the RS looks miles apart from the ninja.

I'm 6'3" and the RS125 felt the least ridiculous of any 250 sport bike excluding 2 stroke 250s. I put the seat height on par with the Hyosung 250, although the RS is far narrower and shorter. But sit on them all and gauge it for yourself.

Once you've ridden the two you'll see that there's no real comparison.

Loud is correct. The 09 ninja was my first bike and I traded for a rs125. The ninja does feel like it's made in Thailand and the Aprilia oozes much better quality: aluminum frame, braided brake lines, brembo calipers, 150 rear wheel with pirrelli tyres, awesome dash display, much better suspension and of course, it's race bred looks.
The seating position is also key.
I like the yamaha r-125, but it lacks grunt.
