Looking good lee.

A couple of q's: What size is the outlet on the kit covers? I'm planning on getting some as they're cheaper than the Tyga's. Also what catch bottle will you be using?

dunno, haven't measured the outlets but i can measure it for you.

Bottles... I am going to use some $2 travel shampoo bottles from price attack. You can see them in one of the photos of all the parts.

Cheers

Ahh yep, yellow and white ones. I just wanted to know the outlet size as I've got some clear hose here and wondering if I'll be able to use it for when I get the kit covers (which I've just ordered).

not sure how well the clear hose will go... the novelty will wear off quickly when you see them go black with crud pretty quickly. I've bought the kit lines as well which are black.

I am not sure how the bottles will go but for $2 they are worth a shot. Cheap enough to simply throw away when they go yuck.

Yeah the clear hose would start to look ugly quickly. Do you think auto vacuum line would be ok?

I'll probably try source bottles from a pet shop, I've heard they're good to use. Don't forget the bottles need to be vented, but you probably already know that.

Basically will allow me to change main jet size by turning a knob on the outside of the airbox... so no need to remove tank, airbox, drain and remove carbs, change jet then reassemble. Should make jetting a lot easier. Will be fitted before hitting the road.

I'll be very interested to hear how this goes.

2c on the PV bottles.... The ones that come with the TYGA covers are nothing special and as lee mentions little shampoo bottles would work just as well. For the hose I'm thinking radiator overflow tube could be about the right size and rad shops have this on big rolls, 1mtr would be plenty and cheap.

What size are the Tyga bottles Laika? I was hoping to find something around the same size to keep the setup compact too.

Yeah that Flo-Commander thing, the first I've seen of that setup. Would save a heap on dyno tuning!

Cool, thanks for that. Gives me an idea of how often it'll need to be emptied.

I too am keen to see how well the flo commander works.

I have spoken to a few people that use them and they all swear by them.

This is just the main air one, if it works as good as I hope I will get one for the pilot system as well.

Cheers

The only thing that looks weird with the Flo-commander is that you have tubes going down the carby intakes - surely that cannot be good for airflow - esp at high RPM. Not just the fact it reduces the area - but also the fact that it will disrupt what would usually be a nice laminar flow at that area.

I am sure they work alright though, and most people wouldn't notice the difference.

I'm not actually looking for a performance effect from the flo commander - more to do with ease of tuning. The air tubes from what I understand don't actually go down the intakes as such, they go into the air jets on the mouth of carby so they should have very little affect on air flow.

Cheers

L

EDIT: I should clarify, it's attached to the main air jet not main jet. Sorry that would cause some confusion as I posted main jet not main air jet.

I'm so close I can taste it.

Needed a helping hand to get the engine subframe lined up

Stator cover cleaned, everything back together with a bit of thread lock.

Powervalve cables on and adjusted via the exhaust port instead of the markers. Pretty common that the markers can be out and in the case of the top cylinder they were out by a good 5 mm. Also all the radiator hoses on and fitted up as well as the lower cylinder coil.

Carbs on and all the electrics hooked up. I'd already serviced the carbs a few months back in preparation for the rebuild.

Not far now
