Cool, I have a decent compressor where I'm living at the mo. I guess my main concern is not changing the tune in the process of cleaning (well not for the worse anyway ) ... Another job to add to the list

nothing to it really
There is no air screw on these carbs, just idle adjustment. So sync carbs IAWTM by eye, reconnect soleniod air lines IAWTM. Hardest bits would be getting the slide sping back in and setting the floats. But all covered well in the manual/on the internet.
Seals are not expensive. 3 total (top, float bowl and needle jet).

I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning... smells like... victory
Blocked off the sipc lines as per kit manual. Tidies things up a bit.
Pipes on
$2 powervalve drain bottle
Fluids in and ready to start. Note the barrel oil lines (next to the kickstart lever) not connected as yet as I wanted to bleed them to get the left over oil (was running motul, now changed to silkolene) and any air out of them.
First start up. Lot of smoke as expected. Running 33:1 mix until oil lines back on. Took a few kicks to get going as the carbs and lines were dry. The pipes sound incredible.
Oil lines back on and ready for heat cycle #2. What a pain in the ass it was to get the left barrel oil line back on.
Heat cycle #2. Started first kick. Smokin' out the workshop. Oooohhh yeah.
So that's it for now. I'll put the new chain and sprockets on when we get back from our trip. I noticed today that the fork seals are on the way out so I'll be doing a fork rebuild in the not to distant future. Stay tuned
Cheers
L

Looking good!
What does the SIPC do? I've read the mod in the kit manual and it mention it helps with low speed stuff but I'm wondering how?

I'm also interested in the SIPC mod. Can it be done to a stock engine?
BTW, it's looking mint! Those shampoo bottles certainly look the part. I'll have to chase some down for mine soon.

Just read the kit manual and turns out that cutting the SIPC hoses isn't recommended if you want to keep low speed performance.
BTW lee, did you only need one bottle for the pv covers?

Lee's setup looks like the one in the kit manual, both covers running into a "T" piece and into one bottle.

The sipc lines are balancer tubes that (supposedly) help with low end torque.
The rgv250 has no low end torque to begin with.
Pretty common mod on any standard of tune and a hell of a lot tidier.
The powervalve drain lines go into a T piece as per the kit manual. So it will fill up faster. The bottom cylinder will always collect more oil as the powervalves on that cylinder are the lowest point in the motor and do a good job at collecting oil.
Thanks for all the feedback. The workshop is a work in progress. Need to paint the benches (got another 4m of benches coming) and put it all away. A job to do when I get back from holidays.
Cheers
L
