    Lucky Strike RG500

Well I have just bought my second RG500, the first one was about 20 years ago (can't believe it's been that long) and thought I would post it here. I am hoping someone will have the background on this colour scheme, the one I had years ago was in the standard blue and was sold to speedway guys that stripped it for the engine

Hi Evil Dwarf, thanks for the welcome.

I have been lurking these forums for a couple of months now hoping to find something for sale.

I am told that it was one of three made for Australia buy the seller, one went to Japan, one in Sydney in bits and this one.

Can't wait to see it in the flesh, I will transport it ASAP and post some photo's when I get it.

I know about the deep pockets, my first one stripped second gear, but that's ok, it's worth it!!!

from my very limited knowledge, there waS NO OFFICIAL Luky strike SUZUKI RG500 issue.
So it is a "private made issue" as the Lucky Strike sponsorship was past the 1984-1987 RG 500 issueb time slot
Never mind that , it is a very nice and wanted colourscheme!

Hi mate, yes it is in NSW but not for much longer

I didn't notice the mirrors and the indicators to be honest but I don't care that much about those, I just hope it is in the good condition as described by the seller and I will touch up the peripherals from there.

It usually a bit rude to ask the purchase price but, it was on ebay for all to see, $12600.00. The condition when it arrives will determine whether or not it was a good price I suppose....bit like a lucky dip!!!!!

Yeah the seller advised (he is a Pastor (Allegedly)) that he had it on but changed his mind around that time.

I am advised that the bike has had no mechanical problems during the two years he has had it, and that it was only ever driven to church on Sundays.......

Has anyone ever used Bike Nut as a transport company? I have a quote from them and so far they have been efficient, prompt and within budget, obviously not a WA company and the manner that they purport to transport the bike seems reliable and safe.

Yep Lucky I used Bike Nut a few years ago to move a RS250 from Adelaide to Perth and they did a great job, I got calls over the few days it was on the road keeping me updated. Very professional and not too expensive.

Uuuum, I probably should get over it.
But, I've used bikenut a couple of times.
The first time no drama's at all, the second time my RZ I got from Evildwarf arrived damaged.
It wasn't bikenuts doing, but they use Peter Stevens to crate the bikes and they let some rookie pack my bike and he did not tie off the tiedowns and they slipped and allowed the bikini fairing to rub all the way from Melb to Broome.
I wasn't happy and it took several conversations to get any compensation.
Just Sayin, and I'd ask them to have the bike checked it's been tied down properly before they screw the cardboard on.

    Nice Buy by the way...

Thanks for being honest with your experience and I am hoping that was just a one off problem and you were unlucky, sorry. I will probably still go with them and specify the tie down issue you have raised. Apparently, all the fairings are original so I would hate for there to be any damage

So far I am thinking it is an extremely good buy, thanks for that, I guess time will tell!!!

There are a fair few RG500 bikes in Perth.
Hopefully a few will be on show soon.
