NEED DE-RESTRICTED SAPC BOX.. help
Hey I just removed my carbs from '94 RGV250 motor and they seem to be the 34mm Mikunis, but i checked the sapc box and its a restricted model as far as i can learn... (22D00 - restricted Jap model according to rgv250.co.uk) The 22D00 box comes standard with 32mm carbs but mine are 34mm... Whats the deal? Either way, i want, no - NEED a de-restricted sapc box so someone please give me some love, and a price!

^^ 34mm carbs are standard on VJ22, but the 22D00 ECU isn't as far as I can tell from the service manual.
best bet might be to try a wrecker or e-bay, i doubt anyone who actually has a derestricted ECU is going to part with it unless they're wrecking a bike?

Zeeltronics seems to have a good reputation in 2 stroke circles (RG500, RZ500) according to the forums and the feedback on them.

Yeah they do, but you will need to wire it up and configure it. You're still finding your feet at the moment so I'd be looking for a 22D30 or an aprilia 23D70 I think it is if you can pick one up cheaply. The aprilia brain box will smooth out the 8.5k lag. Speak to deet at rgvspares.

I can appreciate that, I'm buying the ign and pv controller for my black rgv.
However, and I mean no disrespect to the original poster, but he's still learning the ropes so to speak with his bike so I stand by what I said - the SAPCs are around and are plug and play whereas the zeeltronics are not. They do need to be wired up and they aren't something I would recommend to someone who is just starting to do their own maintenance.

Meh, I'd rather plug in an SAPC knowing it works, and spend my time figuring out how to clean and adjust PV's, than spend my time wanting to burn the bike because I know SFA about 2 strokes or ignition curves.
But that's just me.

^^ what desmo (and lee) said.
I would wager you can probably pick up a genuine SAPC unit cheaper than any aftermarket solution as well, so long as you actually find one.
My experience with aftermarket management on cages also tells me that even if you get it tuned by someone who knows their shit, unless you're willing to pay them for a LOT of time in tuning, you'll never get anywhere near the level of refinement of the factory gear with aftermarket management. Sure you might put out more power or whatever, but the factory gear "just works" in all weather conditions, etc.
Good luck with it
