I'm not going to say to much about norbits bike, other than I have not seen it... and the DCR heads and valves are worth a lot of money ($2500).

There's a few good leads in there, seems like everything other than a VJ21 rgv250 in there... but I may have found one so I'm a little happier.

If there is any interest in the 2000 aprilia, remember that it's right on the top end service interval (new pistons/rings) so make sure it's been done or try and drop the price significantly (around $500 worth of parts, or anything up to several thousand if you pay a shop to do it). Also, I have seen one shop in WA actively importing jap spec rs250s so watch out for the usual problems with imports if you do happen to come across one.

Sorry for not posting last week, I was preoccupied with the pepsi.

There's a lucky strike in perth on ebay. The paint work is not genuine so you'd need to confirm the VIN to make sure it was a genuine lucky strike.

mmm...

Hopefully it hangs around for a while. I've got a wedding to pay for first.
Then I can finally start thinking about the bike again.

Does anyone know what a "boost bottle" is? Is it a scam. It seems dodgy, sort of like the 2stroke eqivalent of some hax0r danoz direct weight loss product.

This is what the website says:
Quote:
The theory goes a bit like this:
Since Carbies can carburet both in and out. When the flow is out of phase with the engine it creates a double dipping intake charge. This can impede the engines ability to make power due to this rich condition. This dip in power can be felt predominately in both 2 stroke engines. The Boost Bottle will help cure the problem by providing a storage tank, of the required volume and distance to resonate at this RPM. It stores the charge that once reversed back through the carbie and returned in an enhanced rich condition. Back in the olden days when RZ250 350 production racers screamed around the tracks, every serious racer used one of these. Added bonus is that one of these boost bottles will improve fuel economy by 10-15%, whilst also enhancing the performance of your engine in the lower rev range.[/b]

i believe this above is the one that was posted up on the forums a while ago with the 23 paint scheme on a 22

couple of rgvs in the paper, a 98 22 for 5k and a 92 race rgv for 2k... if my workshop was up i'd buy the race bike for spares

02 rs250 for 7k, tuart hill

triple treat, 1 for you - KH100, running for 3 hunj in craigie

thats about it

Pricey - boost bottles were invented by yamaha (iirc Y.E.I.S - yamaha energy induction system or something like that)

They were really to help tune out fuelling problems, and they fit into the spot where the crossover tube goes between your inlet manifolds.

I have heard people say they notice a difference in the smoothness of the way the bike picks up revs, but most racers don't run them afaik. They come standard on some yam bikes, and some also had individual chambers, rather than a connected chamber.

There's lots of information about them on the yamaha-rd forum.
