I too would like to acknowledge the fact that mere words are unable to convey my utter distaste for Lee...

Spare parts esp for 2 strokes are becoming Big Bikkies.
Just received my seals/bearings, conrods for the RG500 and just for these parts $1400! This is just to have a decent crank, the rest of the parts just for the engine like 4 pistons/rings/gaskets etc was another $2700. Then the bill for putting the crank together and the rest of the engine/bike/ painting, bits and bobs and one is looking at a serious amount for just a second hand bike. This is what people have to understand when some one with one of these wants propper money for them restored. |

I will blow the trumpet of this website yet again: JP-parts Mail order
If you're resourceful and can get hold of part numbers, submit the quote for what you want, pay by paypal and it's shipped straight from japan. Prices I've had quoted for brand new genuine parts were about half what the local dealer said. I've never asked them for 2-stroke bits though...

Thats a great buy for 2k, sold mine a couple of years ago white one slightly better nick for 4k. May be worth checking the servo for the power valves if youve had regulator problems it could have damaged the unit, also the valves and seals linkages etc only last about 12k before they wear and need replacing. Might also be worth dropping the stator wheel off to check for wear on the stator wiring loom... another fairly common problem. Check Small Coil Rewinds based in Geelong for any stator issues, they are one of the few places that can rewind them successfully.
