    Rz 350 31k l/h cyl (std)???

    Hi guys
I am in the process of restoring a 1983 RZ 350 to original condition. I need a YPVS RZ350 31K left hand cylinder in good condition and preferably of standard bore size.
Can anyone please help me, or know where I may be able to get one?

    Thanks
    Bruiser.

Thanks guy's, but I have tried various wreckers in Perth and interstate.
I have also tried ebay, and there seems to be only pairs of cylinders available at different times. that is why I am asking here just in case somebody has a 1off, only a left hand 31K (STD) cylinder in good/resonable condition. somewhere in their shed gathering dust!
Or even... a Left hander that, is STD and needs a rebore to be servicable.

    Thanks

To be honest mate if you see a set of good nick cylinders you should grab them. Most are sold as pairs and to say they are now hard to come by is something of an understatement. Anyway who has a decent set seem to be holding on to them and if they do sell you're looking at $500 a set.

That said, they do come up seldomly- you could also try sourcing some from NZ and maybe USA but from memory the US RZ's didn't use 31k barrels.

Is you'd current one damaged beyond use? STD oversize goes to +1mm but after market goes to +2mm.

    Thanks guy's,

I do realise that these 31K cylinder barrels are quite scarce!.... I guess that I may need to look a little harder and hopefully get lucky! to find just one left hand barrel, or even another pair.

The current 31K pair of barrels that I do have already, are 2 mm oversize! = 66mm. and in need of another rebore or resleeve.
But... I do have a "sole" 31k R/H barrel of STD bore. that is the main reason why I am asking here if somebody does has a left hand barrel that they can part with.

I know how it feels to try and source these - when I stripped my RZ engine last year it had the RH cyliner at +1mm and the left at std - couldn't find any other barrels so had to bore both to +1.25mm. Seemed like sacriledge to do that to the LHS bore. Afterwards I ended up picking up a set of 31k barrels at +1.5mm and then a set of 1UA's on the std bore with std pistons - all for safe keeping one day when there is no more....

Have you tried contacting Steve @ The Two Stroke Shop? He could have some. The UK is the other sure bet - try RDLC Crazy.

    Good luck with the search!

    Hi Richie,
Yes, I agree it is "sacriledge" to bore out one cylinder just for the sake of matching the other oversized one, only because you cant find a cylinder close enough to match the smaller, usable bore of the two!

I have contacted TSS and I was refered to "Norbo" at RD/LC Crazy. I have emailed them and they are currently searching through their stock, although they say their YPVS stuff is geting quite thin.

one day the chinese may make a reproduction of one of the 31K barrels like they are with the aircooled ones, I am in the slow process of finding an L/H LC 4L0 one to get some drawings done and have had lots of interest from foundry's in china to make them for us, just need to get the drawings done from an original pair.
There are two questions in life.
    1:Which way do I go
    2:Whats the lap record.

    Hey D.J
    Good luck with your venture.
There is a guy up in Geraldton that did something a little similar. He reproduced Norton Commando heads Australian made through a machine shop fabricated in Melbourne!
Fullauto is his the name of his heads, he now distributes Norton Commando heads worldwide.
    Very clever move!
