Anyhow, whats the deal with the F2 tank fitment to the 83-85 bikes?

I just like it becuase the cap recesses into the tank.

Are the 89's a straight fit to the 83-85s??

not a straight fit. The older model has rubber bungs that recesses in the tank sit onto (with bolts at the back), the new model has a rubber band setup at the front, and bolts at the side and rear iirc.

Bit of a job required to fit.

I've chosen a tzr250 (3xv) tank to go onto my bike (which is a later model one)

So does the TZR one fit straight up?Any mods needed? ANy pics of bikes handy with this mod done to them?

Also, is that your R1 shock in the other thread? I got enough stuff to do 4, so can retro fit if needed?

Mike, please empty the contents of your brain/memory into this thread, then keep coming back and see if you forgot something.

You might be on to something there!!!

I have heard that suzuki two stroke exhaust is non toxic and infact good for you. Why is it then that rz smoke is possibly bad for you?

Zuki spends less time running round in world championships, so I guess they are less toxic

Not sure if the TZR tank is a straight fit. I doubt it. I just got it because it matches up to the tz250 seat unit, and the rz tank is too wide.

Yep, it's an 05/06 r1 shock I think. I'm having a new top shock mount made, so should have no problems fitting.
