    Spark Plugs

    Hi Guys,

Had a bit of a search on the forum about plugs and found alot of good info, but im just chasing a bit more specific. . .

Recomended plug for my bike is BR9EG-N-8 . .

Had a look on the NGK site, and some of the sites recommended on here and found the G suffix, is fine wire nickel alloy racing plug, with a low service life..

Just looking at the alternatives and there is..

    S - standard

    IX - Irridium

    YA - Fouling Resistant

    P - Platinum

Any chance running any of the other plugs other than the G specified will do damage. Or if any of the other varieties will help with my fouling.

    Cheers Guys
    Jake

as long as they are the same temp range they should be fine. i know a lot of people swear by the iridiums.

MY 2c on iridiums (have them in my cage):

They give no performance benefit, they just last longer.

On a 2 stroke, where you're likely to foul them sooner or later anyway, will be pulling htem out on a regular basis (and maybe dropping them) and do an engine rebuild every 10,000km anyway (about the life of a normal copper plug).... may as well just get new copper plugs when you strip the motor - or when you otherwise kill them...

    Iridiums are, however fucking expensive
    stuff

Its a '07 CR250, not really road bike related, but this is the oly place i know where anyone knows anything about bikes. Dont have a road bike as yet, dont really have the funds since i bought the CR, but hoping to in the next 6 months, if things work out..
I might just have a bit of a play with different varietys etc, see what works out best. Cheers
