Tech Info - RD350LC Pipe Mod

Those with the knowledge - can anyone confirm if the early RD250LC/350LC pipes underwent any pipe recalls for a weld repair - or was this a common issues as i found mine has had a professional repair at some stage and would like to know if this common.

    Thanks in advance

My left hand side pipe on my LC developed a bad crack almost all the way round.
A kind fellow here on PSB did an excellent weld job on it.

    No guarantees though eh
There are two questions in life.
    1:Which way do I go
    2:Whats the lap record.

    Steve,

The repair was on the weld where the first length of pipe off the manifold goes under the bike and joins the first stage expansion piece.

I recall the issue when i bought mine new in 1982 but did not suffer a problem myself but thought i would test the old buggers on here for the details.

Brina, from what youve said thats not where the issue was in production, its some other kind of repair. Also by 82 they would have had this licked, if you bought in 1980 you may well have seen it as it was only the very early bikes.
