take it for a run see how you go, +1 arron, maybe residue oil from the rebuild, general concensus is to smear new pistons with some 2t before install, if its still smoking excessively check your mix/oil pump setting as per the book, if it wasnt smoking then id be woried. Unless of course your woried about the ozone.

This was a bit of a leg-pull.
I just rebuilt the motor with a Malossi 172 kit and noticing the new oil line wasn't full yet, I figured 5 litres of 50-1 should do it until the oil pump fills the line.
And an extra squirt for good measure.
And another just to be sure.
So much oil that it's pooling in the bend and dripping out.
So much extra oil that I'm surprised it started first time. Well, the first time I noticed someone had flicked the kill switch to off.

sorted then,

God yes, I just need to put the panels back on and run it in over the weekend.
Then I'm out there looking for prey.

Haha, I remember this scoot. It shat all over my 250.
Spoiler: show
Hmm, that's a bigger motor than my bike - and that's with my own big bore fitted!
I used a syringe to pre-fill and prime my oil lines, though it makes for a less interesting photo.
Usually there is a method of priming the oil pump after you've emptied the system. Think with my old RGV you use to adjust/lock the oil pump adjustment to full open for a period of time until the lines were full.
Can't hurt to run some premix in to start with though, just got to hope you don't foul plugs.

i did the same thing with my RGV (i.e., didn't bother to prime, ran 33:1 premix plus oil lines).
it ran fine, but yeah a bit of smoke
plugs were fine, but then again it got about 6km of break in before gossie GP....
stuff
I remember Holden V8s used to take a lonnnnnggggg time to pick up oil after a rebuild. Packing the oil pump with vaseline did the trick.

Flushed the tank, adjusted the oil feed and took it for its first run. Even on part throttle it goes like the clappers. Way faster than it used to be. It's a bit noisy but meh.
Which means you'll be riding like a man possessed everytime you see a scooter coming... Just in case.

nah...
But I would pay to see your scooter eat my 250 for breakfast.
Still im happy that you have got it humming though, 2t's forever!!!

The scooter's quick but only to a point. It's a great urban assault vehicle but not so good above 100kph. Where it does well is around tiny roundabouts and down alleyways. In fact, everywhere my Ducati is not comfortable.
The smoke has eased off but it's still a bit rich. The heavier clutch springs have made it a touch on or off. Tomorrow I'll spend a couple of hours with a handful of jets. Loving that smell.
