Nigel from Belray has a Vespa 250 2 stroke in need of a restore but a sweet 45 year old project.

He's bought a few Aussie scooter mags since being handed that perfect excuse to be in the shed or on the pc looking at porn, ah sorry, I mean eBay looking for parts and stuff...
Anyway, there is an article he told me about in one of the mags and I just had to read it!! It's about a guy in the east who's, lets say, has been known to build a few of these scooters. I have to say that I totally admire this guy for his initiative, research and planning capabilties, workmanship, but most of all, his character, which has resulted in what I consider as one of my "Top 10" favourite bike project build-ups.
I ended up reading this article endless times, I kept the mag for nearly a year forever referring back to it for inspiration and the constant reminder that anything is achievable if you first look outside the square for ideas, then make them into dreams and don't ever stop believing in them no matter what people say.

Now, I'm building up (don't ask how many I got now, hehe) a Kawasaki KH125 Rotary Valve 2 Stroke Cafe Racer, This Guy has built a 250 2 Stroke. I couldn't count how many times my bike and non-bike mates have asked me "What are you spending money on that thing for...?". Okay, I'm not gonna get into that here, it'll be in another thread, but when they ask me that, I just look over too their car etc and have a little chuckle to myself...

I'll get me little leather gloves on that mag and post up the article for you all in the sweetest section PSB has ever given birth too so you can see for yourselves that the ultimate street sleeper of a road weapon can not only be built on a budget, but can also have both sides of the Human Gender oozing fluid from various orifices on any day while parked up at one of our local cafe strips...

Going through the bikes we all have here in this section, it'd be fair to say that including myself, not even half of us are catching him in the performance department let a lone the looks area.

So I've guessed you've figured I'm gonna back the scooters being allowed in if you've made it this far through all my drivel. I reckon if someone on PSB out there has busted his guts building up a 2 stroke scooter and wants to share it with us here, then I'm all for it. Sometimes, when someone does something a bit left of centre or works against the grain, they may need to do just one thing different from the rest in order to succeed. That one thing could be the final touch or that special skill that we can all learn and benefit from.

I know where the ill feeling towards scoots is coming from though, those retchit cage licenced kids who use the footpaths before the roads except when they're using the cross walks cutting off gofers in peak hour traffic. The way I see it is if they are here on PSB and reading all the threads and getting involved with buildups or just a little modifying then their love for two wheels will be just as strong as ours, we just see things differently that's all.

Mmmm, need another beer now...
