Not a fan of phil kn reed sadly!
I believe the full title is "Le Cheval De Fer". Would dearly love to see the full movie just based on that title sequence.
Oh, yeah? Why's that? Not a fan of phil kn reed sadly!
Way to long a story, and happened decades ago.
mint....
The 2011 Herbalife/ISRacing CBR600RR
With proud support from Herbalife, IS Racing, Motorcycle panel and paint, Mobile Motorcyle Medic, Motorcycle pitstop.A special thanks to Ivan, Stephan, and Gavin, for all their past, present and future assistance.
Look what popped up on Hell For Leather: phil read rides the mv agustal. It includes a bit more info about the original movie too.
The oil companies that were sponsoring at that time like SHELL, Castrol, ELF, TOTAL and BP MUST have huge rolls of sensational films laying in their archives as they were for ever making films of Motorsport.
And did have the access so as to have something to show in their coorporate functions.
How to get hold of them??
I have a Jack Brabham 16mm movie that was a coorporate shown item, that now is for sale in the motorsport speciality shops called the "The Repco Brabham story"
Hugely talented though Mr Read may be, whenever I've seen an interview with him or read one of his columns in the bike press, he unfortunately comes across as a pompous, narcissistic tosser.
And he rode bloody Hondas.
Sorry.
Interesting to get some context.
I'd still love to see this though. Besides the great angles and sound, the mid-70s styling appeals massively to me.
This is , yet, another wonderfull 1/12 scale model of the 3 cilinder 500cc MV Agusta GP winner.
There is also a much less detailed and much shoddier made model of this bike by New Ray, but this Minichamps is a very detailed model of a similar bike in the clip above
The basic design did not change very much for a long time. 1967-1972; 7 WC titles 78HP@12.000 rpm7 speed gearbox top of 260km/h! (1970)
Phil Reed's helmet was at the time a masterpiece (Premier) with a strong resemblence to the moon landing Buzz Aldrin space helmets and his personal desirn was outstanding .
Every one wanted a Premier helmet!
same one?
Update: I'll answer my own question: no. (I looked a bit closer.)
Update 2: By the way, if you liked the vid, you may enjoy this tumblr too: http://burstsausages.com/

Correct, Won the Dutch TT on it, in fact. And Ago won the German GP at the Nurburgring on the 500, MV's final of their 275 GP wins.
yep and I was there Dutch GP, just full on awsomeness looking back.
anybody got a timetravel machine?
Jeez, you're a bit tough there, Pat. He also rode Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, BSA, Norton, MV, Matchless, AJS, Bultaco, Triumph, Ducati, Paton and more, and of his 52 GP wins he won 10 on a 125, 27 on a 250, 4 on a 350 and 11 on a 500. He may be a little indelicate with his words and far from diplomatic, but he's no tosser....![]()

I loved the way he kept coming back to the IOM until forced to retire by their age limits!
Please, call me Flash...
