Yes it's a 2ST, I used to have an 83 CR250 and ran it on Bel-ray 2ST oil @ 30:1 if memory serves me correctly Just mix it in a jerry can and don't leave it sit too long
Can't remember what I used in the gearbox but was most likely Bel-ray or similar just change it regularly
Was a good bike although mine was a bit of a pain having the kick start on the LH side (I think the 82 was the same but had a flatter seat and different plastics )

Same, never had an issue running 40:1 using Silkolene 2T.

This depends on jetting and type of oil, 30:1 could be too rich.

    1:Which way do I go
    2:Whats the lap record.

Find out what oil your buddy was running in it, synthetic or meneral, and use the same, they dont like to mix so if he was running mineral oil keep using it, tun it at 30:1, have a look here An oil/fuel chart for noobs for mixing quantities.

Hi guys ,yes it is a two stroke run it at 40 :1 bellray is a excellent choice just make sure that you don't use a friction modified oil in the sump as you will glaze the clutch plates
castrol make a good oil for two stroke sumps but buggered if i can rember what it is called
    Happy roosting
