    cbr 600 tank removal

i was just putting the seat bolt back on my 2004 cbr 600 rr and i dropped it
it slid down the plastic and lodged under the fuel tank.i tried one of those magnetic telescopic things but the bolt wont stick to it.i then tried disconnecting the battery to try and get my hand in and dropped the square bolt that holds the battery cable.i've been trying for a while and i cant get near them to get them out without removing the fuel tank.

has anyone any tips or advice for removing the tank is it easy to do or is it a pain in the arse

should be like the 1000rr need to take the tank cover off 4 bolts 2 front at front 2 under seat, then lift cover off then two more bolts on the tank at the front then the tank will lean up from the front and you can get a hand under there

    or try Honda Motorcycles

find most of my answers there

ok need to remove the two bolts of the tank at the bottom then you can lift it up from the front bringing it past the frame it will come out a little without disconneting the hoses but if you need more room they are on quick release fitting just remember which ones go where

I had mine off last night. Remove the 6 bolts that hold your tank cover down, 2 at the front, 2 under the seat and 2 on the side that are hidden by some other covers. Then remove the 4 bolts that hold the tank down and you should be able to lift it up to get underneath it without removing it completely off your bike.

What Thunderbird said. There are two bolts you can't see which are the side ones Thunderbird mentioned. They are under the covers that go from your tank towards the nose cover on each side. It's a pain, but it is probably easier to take the nose off to do it. Can be done without taking the nose off, but you need to have faith that when you bend the covers (air rams under them) that they won't break. I have a manual with pics that I got from Pitstop Bookshop that helps with lots of stuff. If you are gonna do some work yourself they are worth having. With some searching PDF's can normally be found online too.
