Cornering - Constructive Criticism required please

Here are a couple of pics showing the three riders typical posture on the same corner. Your comments on what may be done to correct the form would be greatly appreciated!

    Rider 2 is the worst...

But all have their heads too high...

I beat that pic of Doohan is a slow corner in GP terms...

or possibly about to change direction...

oh oh let me have a crack... (disclamer: im no expert)

    1. not bad but get your head and body down to the tank, possibly sitting too far foward making it hard to bend down onto the tank?

    2. be carefull, its riders that look like that often come unstuck, your head is soo upright its on the wrong side of the bike, concerntrate on dropping your shoulder or elbow right down to get all your bodyweight down and to the inside, im guessing it'l be hard at first but your carrying good lean angle and will pick up bulk corner speed by getting it right

    3. Probably move off the seat a tad more and again get that chest on the tank!

Its hard to see from one pic each. As said everyone does it a bit different and has theyre own style eavn the motogp guys look to sit on the bikes slightly different.

I too can beat that pic of Doohan (its not that quick).

It was a certain style of his as can be seen in these two vids. Whether it helped in switching from one side of the bike to the other I am not sure.

Probably not the best comparing him with Mr Schwantz who was also a bit unorthodox looking on the bike, just saying whatever you are comfortable with while staying upright is probably what you should do unless you are going the racer route as most riders are quicker with the orthodox style.

Rich - Rider one needs to hug the tank a little??? All three rider look "high" in the saddle? Asking for clarity.

None of you look to be carrying alot of corner speed...

As you get faster you are going to need to get down and off more...

The best people to speak to are the coaches at RAC track...

    Get them to follow you...

If Andrea is there, then there is no one better to tell you how to ride that track and correct your body positioning and lines...

Cheers, we are booked in again with Andrea for the 30th Oct, meanwhile the other bookings are Collie, Champions x 2 in which we wanted to develop further skills and not develop "bad habits" which I am sure from the feedback on this post - we have

Take advantage of the coaches at Trakdayz and RAC...

Ask and they will help you...

Very skilled riders who want to pass on those skills...

this thread is helpful to me. im gonna sound like a noob but whatever......

ive been on dirtbikes most of my life, recently got my 06 z1000 and love it to bits. the only issue im having is cornering. while it feels simple and easy enough to
want to get down low it scares the fuck outta me coz i have no idea how low i can actually go. i dont wanna "bin my shit" but i do want to get the most out of
corners.. usually when i take corners on the dirt it looks more or less like this:
    bike-stunts-hd-wallpapers-widescreen.jpg

my question is how do u know how low u can go?

To get the most out of corners just gas it like you do on the dirt bike. the back will swing around and you will get sick lean angles.
