Fitting a Slip on to a Yamaha FZ1N

    HI Guys,

I just purchased a slip on Two Brothers exhaust to fit my 2009 Yamaha FZ1N.

I was wondering whether anybody would know what it would be worth to have it installed or if anybody has the tools/know how to give me a hand.

Hey Sandman, do it yourself, found it dead easy after DS sent me the Utube link, I'll dig it up and send it to you.

Note!!! only disconnect the EXUP cables, do not try and remove the servo unit, if you do you will end up with an Error code on the dash!!!!

Can I remove the cables from the Servo or should I just cable tie those at the valve onto the body?

Ok Cheers. Just so long as I dont remove the servo unit itself, only the cables as the instructions suggest.

This is what Shakey was talking about, quick and easy job, especially if you don't "gut the cat" but that's a personal choice

geeza is correct about the error code, but you can trick the ECU into thinking the servo is connected- see link below. if you are only fitting a slipon and not a full system i wouldnt have thought you needed to mess with the exup?

Agreed - slip on is simple to fit.

the exup on the fazer sits in the mid pipe, which comes off with the oem can in one piece, so when you get a slip on, you need a mid pipe also, the o2 sensor sits just in front of the midpipe and stays (so long as you dont follow through with a chisel when you gut the cat and take it out with a wild blow.!

the exup unit under the tank isn't an issue to stay, you'd never know it's there

What's this gutting the cat all about? Is it worth doing or will it only make the system unbearably loud?
