hacking mobile phone

like the news of the world in the uk hacked into mobile phones, i read you can set up a pin code to stop this from not happening and i dont mean just lock your phone . i was in the uk when this was happening so i know in the uk you can do this , i went to the telstra shop and the tech guy had never heard of this dose anyone know if this is possible in australia . thanks

i think they ring a number that is for the service provider (ie 1800xxxxxxx ) then put your mobile number in that bang access to your messages , it can be done in the uk some how but dont realy know how but it can be done thats why news of the world shut down .

Ah ok. Then it would appear that adding a PIN to your message bank system would prevent any access. If this is the case , then it is simple to instal, is generally in the setup menu or can be added by your service provider!

ha ha ha!! The UK phone "hacking" scandal was just some snooty pom listening and deleting a young deceased girls VOICE MAILS!!

IN SAYING THAT!!! it is possible to load a virus (trojan of sorts) onto a mobile symbian or iOs device and the virus then transmits data from the phone to the hacker!!
