HELP!!! How do I loossen up a front sprocket nut!!!

Hey, my sprockets are really, really, but really fucked up! So fucked up if that I accelarate quicker than a truck it slips a bit, well, a lot. I've pulled the wheel back a couple of times already to create more tention in the chain and make it stay on the sprocket. But that's not how u fix it. I've got the parts already both sprockets and chain, but I couldn't get the front sprocket nut out. My mate, his dad, and me tried all together using a spanner attached to a 2 hollow bar with prob 2mm walls just to bend the spanner (sort of thing). Called a bike shop to see if they were willing to help but, guess what.. NO. Tought of going to a tire place close to work to see if they would undo it for me with their rattle gun. But haven't tried that yet. tried putting degreaser and some other stuff but it hasn't helped.

Does anybody has some insights? or tools that could help me out?

    Cheers

Decent socket set? Or a torque wrench with a nice long handle? I borrowed my dad's torque wrench when I changed my front sprocket and managed to stand on the bike and hold the rear brake with my right foot while using my left foot to stand on the bar. But it sounds like yours might be a bit tighter?

I was siting on the bike braking the rear and front, my mate holding to thing onto the nut, and his dad standing up pulling the bar down. The front suspension would compress, bike would roll a bit forward, and and we would go nowhere. We tried a bit harder and bent the thing

Rattlegun or imact driver may be your only hope. Who did it up?

What size? Did you use a ringie?

Shite, that's tight! Can you take out the suspension comression at all? I had mine on the paddock stands, so front compression wasn't a problem. Otherwise, you're only option might be a rattle gun as you said already.

Rattle gun or a Torque multiplier may be your only option. It doesn't have one of those washers that you bend over to stop the nut from turning??

This seems to be an issue for some bikes, the sprocket manages to tighten despite locking plates. You'll either need a high powered rattlegun (~750W or compressed air, don't bother with anything less) or you can try with the set up you had before, get your mate's dad to put as much force through it as possible and then hit it hard with a large mallet.

Have you released the locking point of the nut?

Either an external lock washer that bends up to lock it in position, as per below,

    ChainCSSprocketNut.jpg

or an internal retainer (inner diameter of the nut) that is punched into a slot in the sprocket shaft to lock it into place ala

The high collar on this nut is punched into the slot on the shaft to lock it in place.......

In nuetral with a metal bar wrapped very well in a blanket wedge between swingarm and rim spokes, right size socket and breaker bar (longest bar you can put on) should be able to remove it

Will try to heat up the nut. Just sms'ed a truck mechanic friend of mine. He should have a tool for the job. It does have those locking plates, we straighten it up before we tried. It sucks to have the parts and not be able to put it together

    +1 for rattle gun

or can try a quality ring spanner and give it a couple of sharp belts with a gympie hammer to break the stiction. i dont like putting big breaker bars on sockets in case the socket explodes in my face.

It's the first type.P1029_08-06-11.jpg so I think i've done the right thing, straightened the washer and tried to undo the nut. I've called kawasaki asking if it was a reverse thread but they said it was normal. So I guess I should flatenen the washer heat up the nut, and try with a rattle gun.

Cheers for the help. any other insights?

That's exactly what I did. The bike has 13 years and I think I'm the first owner that is changing the sprockets, and maybe the chain. When I get it off I'll take a pic. it looks like a throwing star! 51k on the clock when I snapped the speedo cable a month ago while taking off with the disc lock on
