Hi guys!
I was wondering if you guys would recommend HID or LED headlights for the CBR 250. Trying to change it for a white / blue light.
Do you guys know which bulbs I would be needing? There isn't much information when I google it.
Thanks!

HID kit? H4 and legal i think is 6000k after that is ilegal
Apologizes my English is not the bestI'm Spanish Speaker and improving my English

wouldnt go much higher than 6000k personaly think 5000k is best but its more white than blue the bluer it go's the less efective the light is. also can be bad in the rain as it creates glaire. if you just want it to look kool just go 8000k 10000k ore even 12000k
Don't know whether there is much in the way of LED headlights but HID are the shitBetween 5-6k are best for vision as emrys said
Technically they aren't legal but I've had no dramas in 5 years with the 5300k ones in my BB and I've been pulled over a few times

yeh not legal to retrofit HID's but does not seem to stop people from doing it fitted 4 sets this week all 6000k
some H4 and some H7 all worked well some headlights need a bit of adjustment depending on what your trying to achieve looks or function
Thanks guys! (:

4300k is oem HID colour for cars, 5000k probably the best white light, i got 6000k in bike at moment (tinge of blue), probably lost a little luminance compared to stock halogen bulbs (which are around 3000k colour temperature), but short steve can tell ya they stand out.. bit of a pain for him, even if i was 100m behind him, they were overiding his own headlights out in the hills, which meant when he tipped into corners all he could see infront of him was a big shadow of himself.
LED's look bright, but project very little lumanence. I put them in my Liberty fog lights and reverse lights. Theyre worthless for lighting shit up, but they look the shiz.
As for 6000k creating glare in the rain, well when its dark its hard to tell if the road is damp, wet... so having a bit of glare in these conditions is probaby actually beneficial so you know you havent just gone into a darker street, and recognise you need to back off.
To be honest (on the 14 anyway), i havent noticed glare to be a problem. First sign of rain I usually get when dark is visor going blurry, but if i concentrate the hid's will highlight spray coming off bikes tyres infront.

Phillips Crystal Vision globes. No mods, massive improvement in vision, look shmick.
leds can work good but to get any decent light youve gotta spend a fair bit. imho stick with hid until led tech improves an drops in price a bit
I have been wondering this recently Thanks good thread![]()

Headlight adjustment will be needed mine are like a set of lightforce now 3xh7 Hid might try yellow glasses next time it rains if the glare gets me.
i have HID 4300 H4's in the main headlights on the 1400GTR, supplemented with Hella FF50's spotties retro fitted with H7 6000 HID globes,
i can honestly say that the OEM halogens, which i thought were good are shit when compard to the HID's
i have ridden through the night a few times across the paddock and wouldn't be with out them

Cool choice of ride mate - go the mighty 2 stroke!
The difference between an OEM H4 and a good quality aftermarket one is like, dare I say it, night and day. The original H4 in the 2008 model RS125 was poor, yellow and a fairly short beam of light. Put in the Crystal Visions (6000k as far as I recall, less blue but legal) and the light was far more intense and shone for a much greater range.
I wonder how many people resort straight to HIDs and sing their praises before trying this cheap, quick and reliable method of improving night vision?
Because a HID low beam disperses enough light.
Running a LED hi beam has the advantages for those of whom own a bike that runs a single low beam light. (purely for the aesthetics)
Btw, im running projectors both hi beam & low beam.
Comprende ?
Plus not all bikes can support H4.
