Question Oil-drainage bolt unable to loosen

    Howdy PSB'ers,

Issue : oil drainage bolt won't give... even an inch

So the time has come for an oil change. The oil drainage bolt doesn't seem to want to loosen. I've done the hammer to the back of the head maneuver to try and 'free' the threads along with other methods of 'taking care of business' as we do in Detroit (pistol-whips) but still a no-go, even with wd40. Even managed to snap a socket wrench

Second bet was to try and remove the 3 smaller bolts (pictured below) to remove the entire plate but one of the bolt heads has all its sides rendered so that's a no go. I've done the search on youtube & here regarding similar issues but i'm not entirely convinced that drilling it out with a left-handed drill-bit would work.

If its out of the way, get some heat onto it and give it a crack. Or, good socket w/breaker bar or ringy spanner, put as much force as you can on it then hit it with a hammer. Failing that, rattlegun.

I got a hot tip from someone... pun intended.... Hold the tip of a hot soldering iron on the bolt and it'll loosen up. Failing that blow torch or breaker bar. Or slip a length of pipe over the handle of your socket, does the same as the breaker bar.

Hate to be the one to ask but you are tightening it the right way, it is opposite when upside down.

Have you tried a socket head in a power Drill?
Also, how long did you leave the WD-40? I left mine overnight with a liberal dosing

A blow torch may distort the aluminium or destroy the 'o' ring.

Run the engine to normal temp then leave for 10 mins should be enough heat unless somebody used loctite on it.

Don't use a normal 12 sided socket, go and buy an impact socket (ie six sided).

If that doesn't work then find a woman with chronic PMS, pull the pin and throw 'er in. That bolt will get told.
