Since ive just learnt to post pic's heres a quick rundown of what i did today
Quick guide to a front end freshen up, Fork seals and headstem bearings
Things you will need to do this:
1) Workshop manual for your specific model of Bike
2) New fork oil and forkseals (From your Local Dealer)
3) headstem bearing (From your Local Dealer or bearing joint)
4) Decent tool set (C-Spanner, Sockets, Tbar Allen keys, screw drivers, Plastic Mallet ect.)
5) Straps and a Strong Ceiling Joist.
6) A Motorbike with stuffed forkseals and headstem bearings
7) Second pair of hands (not paws, but thats all I had)
To Start:
Getting the front end totally off the ground with straps connected to the frame to pivot up (use rear stand aswell)
Remove front wheel, forks and any other clutter around the front end to give access to head stem bearings.

Refer to manual to rebuild your specific forks with the help of prepurchased parts
Remove top triple clamp
Pull back the lock tabs inbetween the doulbe nuts then remove with c-spanner the double nuts
Then the lower tripleclamp should fall through
Replace z bearings and repack new bearings with heaps of low temp grease
Rebuild in reverse the way you stripped it down and tension up the tripleclamp to where its just grabbing as you turn lock to lock
then dunnah all done in half a day.. even Dixy is happy![]()
Doing this thread took me longer... thanks Dingo
