I have done it with a car, it is exactly the same as buying any unlicensed vehicle. Proof of ownership and a pit inspection. That's it.

Yeah i did it with my R1.

Proof of purchase and a pit inspection like already said.

Just make sure that it is up to spec for our roads. turn signals are not flush mount and rear tail is fitted with reflectors. Also if you have the Road worthy cert you could take that and hand it in with your paperwork for the inspectors....

Midland are awesome as are ossy park.

    Good luck.

Wheckout the Transport website for all the info, including fees: Interstate or overseas vehicle
You'll have an inspection fee $62.80 and permit fee $21 if you want to ride the bike to the inspection centre
If it passes inspection you'll have to pay stamp duty (based on the purchase price of the bike) and registration.
Just go through the bike and make sure it's roadworthy, no fender eliminator, exhaust not too loud (I got over with an after market exhaust but borrowed a baffle for the day)...and check the legality of any other mods on the bike...details on the website.

get the seller to sign a document stating that he has sold the bike to you,
with theres and yours full name and address plus frame and engine number of the bike .
it will make registering the bike so much easyer.
