    shortening HT leads

Does anyone know if its possible to simply cut down HT leads to length and then reattach plug caps??

(I grabbed a pair of modern Kawasaki ZX900 coils for my GSX 11 project, but the leads are way longer than necessary. I haven't even tried to pull them apart yet just in case I stuff them up.)

    Any advice appreciated, cheers

If they are solid wire leads with screw on ends, the answer is yes you can.

More important is the primary resistance and inductance of the newer coils, later coils can be lower resistance (higher current flow) and may damage the control box.

It would pay to research the test specs for both coils to find out if there is a difference.

Thanks I'll have a closer look at them.
By the way, these are being used with a new dynatek s ignition. I'm told that they work well in combination with each other.
