Stator on CBR600F4i, rebuild or replacement, TBA...

So the damned stator has finally packed it in on my CBR - here I was all this time thinking it was the regulator and after a few simple tests my heart sank like the blue jewel. The regulator, the piece of equipment easily replaceable and easy to come by, and even fairly priced in some places... was fine and needed no replacement. The hard part to come by, hard part to get to, hard part to remove and replace... was FUCKED!
Anyway, depending on it's condition, I'm either going to rebuild it or replace it, and if it's a rebuild, will keep you up to date as to how well as stator rebuild functions. Hopefully I can coil that sucker just right to serve me for a few more years yet.

    ...more to follow, when done!

After hearing several bad reports on that dude's work from a few guys whose opinions I trust, I'd recommend you don't go there.

Give Motorcycle Masters in Kewdale a call, they send stators off to a place in Geelong. Have had several done by them, no complaints. If you are relly lucky, they have have one you can exchange when you walk in.

just went through a stator replacement. i have a r1 reg here if you need it. an upgrade of the crappy honda unit.
dont goto the ozzy park place, its a rip off and i have not heard anything good about him.
options are going to motorcycle masters, or buying online. I bought a Rick's aftermarket stator. been working sweet.

I work in Kewdale almost right next to Maurie's (Motorcycle Masters). I'll walk in and see what he's got. Cheers for the advice; I've checked my reg and so far all seems to be working sweet, but should something go wrong I'll PM you and we can work out a price. Cheers mate

for all bad stories there are good stories. I've had a couple of stators rewound by the guy in ossie park over the years, never had a problem with them, good service and cheaper than getting an exchange from over east. Check out all your options and go with the most convenient i guess.

Yeah I had a stator redone about 20 years ago by them (I think) for my CB750F and it was OK Deano you could also try the links I posted in the other thread as they do stators as well
