Swapping the Handlebars on a Honda CBX250

    Hi Everyone!

I'm looking at buying an 84 Honda CBX250 and converting it to a street tracker. I think they would be a good bike to convert and should be good fun. I have found plenty of CBX250 bikes "cafed" but never a tracker. Has anyone seen anything on the net of one being done?
Any opinions on the bikes? All reviews I've read suggest they are very similar to the cb250rs, just a bit more refined and more powerful.
One issue I'm going to come across is swapping the handlebars. They come with the clip-on, drop down style handlebars which look fine for a cafe bike, but not a tracker. Does anyone know of a good way to change these? Below is a pic of how they are normally.
I have seen on 1tail.com that they sell handlebar clamps (see below) the bolt through the tree clamp, however I don't know hoe safe it would be with a one bolt fixing point. Does anyone have any experience in doing these swap overs?

Cheers any help and suggestions are appreciated.

Looks to me like you d have to swap the top triple clamp for one that has conventional handlebars. Or you could risk it and drill the existing one.

That would probably be the simplest and most legal way of doing it I would think. I don't suppose you know of any that would be a straight swap over?

Youd have to measure the distance (centre to centre of the forks and go from there. If you swapped the whole stem assy over it might make matters a bit easier as well.
