1st practice ride for marshals-August 9th

If you are reading this, then you have obviously put your hand up to help out on this year's MAD ride.

If you have offered to help as a ride marshal, then here is your first chance at doing the ride route.

I will be doing a practice run, for anyone who wants to join me, on Sunday the 9th of August. The meet point is the northern side of the front carpark at Shenton Park Hospital. I will be there from 9.30 am and I plan on leaving around 10 am, to copy as much as possible the timing of the ride itself, this way we will get a feel for the traffic conditions for that time on a Sunday morning.

Since it is a practice run for the ride, it will be done at around the speed limit, but the finish point is close enough that you could do a northern river run, or similar, afterwards to blow out the cobwebs .

I realize that the timing of this clashes with one of Flash Harry's explorer rides, but don't panic if you are going with Flash, this is the first of probably three such practice runs that I will be doing, so you will have a chance to do it later.

Should be over by lunch Sam. I have ridden the course solo, at the speed limit, and in traffic, and only took 45 mins to 1 hour.
