As per the topic, Tex asked me some time ago would i ride his Stoner rep. I said id be honored, and asked me agai during the week to confirm.

Must just say, thanks Tex, was a honor to ride it, to lead the ride, and to have it there. Was a shame you wernt there, but im sure you can now look forward to next years event !

Also sneak in a quick thanks to the guys and gals who helped me get the 08 colour scheme for the race bike ready ... Adz, Ryno, RGV Lee, BlackFZR, Bart and Lubi ... you guys rock !. Also to Jana and Charlotte for the help with the screen ... couldnt have done it without the help

I was just wondering the same thing myself.

The pace of the ride (I was about 300 bikes from the front)...wasn't bad. I am now even more impressed, especially if Saf was reaching down wiv his left hand to change the sucker.

Saf and I had a few giggles up the front, especially when we got carved up by a golden 2 tonne BMW Cruiser who split between us two abrest in a single lane to force his way to the front of the ride.

It was an honour to ride next to you on that bike Saf.

    Made my day for sure.

I'll think he was shifting without the clutch Sam, i noticed as we rode that Saf was very careful to get the revs exactly right before leaning down and shifting up or down. Amazing to watch tho, especially after we got the giggles making jokes about the Gold BMW rider who fully cut us up with his radio cranking.

It was great to hear about you leading the ride, I wish i could of been out of hospital to see it , and I was really happy to be able to offer the bike to you to ride ! I know Fastgirl did a fantastic job on the 2006 LCR Stoner Rep as well as an equally fantastic job on the 2007 Ducati Stoner Rep, and I also know the work that you put into that 2006 LCR bike Saf ! I also know the continued brilliant effort that Rooster has put into MAD in general over the years, all three of you are people that i would of liked to see ride that bike ! only problem is only one can on the day !

That bike means the world to me and i was happy to put it into the hands of a man who i also knows loves that bike. next year though I intend to ride it, i don't intend to crash my race bike and f@ck myself up this bad, but Saf , you're a man who knows more about that than i do !

All the people who had anything to do with MAD are absolute champions, well done to each and everyone of you regardless of how big or small your contribution !

    Tex

Semi, Yes left hand and rev match all the way up and down.

Tex, It was funny from the start ..... i always feel like its a bike i sold and have now been re-united again with. Was great to ride for the first time, seemed like only a few months ago we created that little number, and its great to see its the same condition as it went to you in. The thing that really brought a smile to my dial ... the 1000RR has that big induction roar from the cold air intake behind the wheel, and they make such a distinct sound. Rolling it on out of corners as the revs slowly come up it sounds exactly like being on a warm up lap on the 1000RR race bike .... and that alone gives you the feeling that something really good is going to happen soon

I must say i didnt inspire what looked like a whole lot of confidence in your father when i picked it up. Almost fell over walking on the grass, warmed it up and shut it off so i could click first, then start it and ride off ... he looked kinda "Shit you better know what your doing or lil Tex is gonna have you shot" ... hahha.

The shit you do as a matter of course that 99% of us couldn't even begin to comprehend... you're a special talented man Saf.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

+1 for Saf, and a bick fuck you to the moron on the lounge chair. I was the first "regular" bike out after the lead pack(vips?) coz I got there early. I couldnt believe it when that clown came weaving through the pack, who does he think he is...Elvis?

    end rant.
