MAD 2008: The Cheque Presentation.

Well, 2008 was another huge year for MAD, with hard work from many volunteers making MAD goes Northam and the Angry Bee raffle a great success. A few of us from the committee had the chance to meet up with Giles Plant from Reds Spinal Cord Lab at UWA and Anne Watts from Ward 11 at Shenton Park Rehab Hospital.

Here are the photos from the night, where we handed over two $10,000 cheques to these great organisations!

It is also with great excitement that the MAD commitee welcomes Nath as the new chairman for 2009. This year is already shaping up to be yet another great year of Making A Difference and I know the rest of the committee are very excited about having Nath at the handlebars.

Hang on there Mr chairman Sir, I've been told from my super secret sources, that it's a special strip down rebuild of a CT110, as a tribute to our postie comrades. If anyone could be relied on to deliver me a special surprise daily, it was Mr Postman.

Good Question.

No, we raised more than that, I don't have the exact figure.

Remember that we need to have the funds to purchase/ mod this year's MAD raffle bike, as well as funds for things like posters, raffle tickets, etc, etc.

Last year the ride only attracted around 800 bikes, whereas the year before was around 2500, so the amount we raised last year was quite a bit less than the year before, when we gave each of those same recipients 25G each.

With the ride being back in town this year we are aiming for the 3ooo bike mark, so hopefully we will really be able to Make A Difference next time.

Great effort guys - 10K is nothing to be sneezed at and will assist both groups greatly.
