Thought this might be a good idea
Any comments/suggestions/observations?
For the organising, the marshalling, the parking, whatever.
Say it now so it can help for next year![]()

Team KL 2011. Round 3 - the biggest yet

Hangover recovery area.

How about less dribble?
I noticed the people-with-signs weren't at the corners in Freo.
Did this cause any confusion further back in the pack?

FUCKING YES! I was looking for Port Beach Rd but it wasn't ... it was Lehman or something!

Did'nt have any drama coming into freo, just made sure to slow down enough for the pack to bunch up if it looked like the lights were going to change.

I thought the route was pretty straight forward, but I didnt see cornver signs anywhereI thought there were meant to be corner signs (e.g.) "mad ride this a-way --->" etc.?
There was a bit of overtaking/speeding by the mid-pack whenever a car/traffic light got in the way. I was playing TEC, so was watching it happen, but it was every time something split the traffic, so I'm not sure it'd be easy to control. Nothing too major... but plenty of room for the police to make some spare cash if they felt the need, and some of the more cautious riders might have been uncomfortable but just joined in due to the pressure to keep pace.

There was some dood on Mounts Bay Road, just after you come under the freeway, before the convention center (red circle on the map).
He ran out in an orange hi-vis vest and was vigorously gesturing for people to turn right.. you can't see the right hand turn on the map because of the trees but im pretty sure it is a u-turn back up Mounts Bay Road (drawn on), the people at the front of my group when we pulled up at the lights just after it were telling me they thought we should have turned right.
I told them he was on drugs.. I don't think I lost anyone from my group but did notice quite a few bikes going the other way up Mounts Bay Road / Stirling Highway up until that point, hopefully they were just going home.

Garett: would have been somebody from the bike show. They were using that area as overflow parking. They would have thought you were trying to park upstairs, which was full, not knowing you were heading for the esplanade.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Really? (re: printed routes)
There was only four turns on the whole route, not counting the lap around the park.
I would have hoped us marshals would have been able to handle that...

Hahah.. don't be so sure..
I forgot where we were going and had to check with Tim using subtle hand signals heading down Selby street![]()
I will admit, I got confused for a second when the sign didn't say Oceanic, but I remembered pretty quick![]()

hahaha, I love you Nath, you magnificent cocksnogger

I only went on half a marshall's run, but I was fine with my route. What I think would be good would be more marshalls through the pack, rather than a few at the end. Even though I was trying to group my pack up as much as possible, there still ended up being a few times that teh group got seperated and there wasnt anyone leading those behind me.
