Want something Different? .. Supercharged VRod

    The Bike
This Bike is not your typical HD Cruiser... whilst it is happy to plonk along at 60km/h it really loves being given the berries and there is nothing like the look on a sports bike riders face when they pull up at the next set of lights after having seen the taillight for the last 400m it really is a wolf in sheeps clothing and because the s/c is so stealth it doesn't attract too much attention when riding...

Yep.. Torques where it's at .... it has actually improved (had squiggly bits tuned out) since it was re-tuned and the fuel regulators pressurised... dropped a couple of ponies but picked up driveability ....now it is even more "ridiculous"...

    Better than it was ...

When I first got it it had a 14lt standard Tank and was tuned for grunt, grunt and more grunt.... since then I shelled out about a grand to get a Long range after market tank from the US (VMOD.com) which bumped it up to 20lts.

Since the major re-tune and latest upgrade on the s/c it has been a whole different bike ... now I can easy get 200-225 even 250km and still have juice in the tank.

I remember going on a "Curry Run" from Baldivis to Waroona .. with the original tune and tank - the BM K1200 that led the ride used about 6 litres ... I used about 12.5.... ??

Now it actually gets better fuel economy than my car which is a plus!!!

That reminds me I better add that to the specs lol ...

At 154hp I'm sure you may have a few Hyo riders worried. But litre bikes....

Mate as you and I both know ... on the street .. on the track.. on the strip
    bike 40% Rider 60% ...

There are plenty of sports bikes I have rounded up on the outside... even on an old air cooled HD ... doesn't mean I am great... means they were crap/timid/inexperienced... and probably had little to do with the capacity of the bike.

Coxy, sounds like this new tuning set-up has reduced or eliminated the overfueling (black smoke) when you used to give it heaps of throttle? i can still remember the trouble we caused!
great pictures, great bike, worth every cent. i would tell anybody that thing kicks hard!

i'd dare say cbr1k, this bike will launch much faster than litre bikes, unless you can keep your RPM at 14k for the entire run and not loop it. cbr1000 for instance is what.. 80 torque, rising from about 50 at 3000? this has basically 90 @ 3000, peaking 100+ in midrange

    and comparable power.

top speed will be a different story

hoping that Rao buys it - So i can talk him into letting me have a go

Mate you are right on the money ... took me a while to work out the optimum launch revs are about 3-4k (any more and it starts to smoke) but even below that it still builds really quick if the wrist is a bit twisted and since the re-tune the power does actually curve up a bit higher a bit sooner too... but I couldn't find that one... top speed is goverened by the size of the sprockets ... this will hit redline at 9000 doing about 230km/h ... if it had different gearing....who knows...but realistically at that end of the spectrum litre (and 750/600s) are already gone ... (top speed tested on a closed private track by a professional stunt rider no speed limits have ever been broken on the road) ...

But enough of the tyre kicking... anyone wanna buy it..???

hmmm valid point, but revs up high on the vtr, tight against the tank......
variety is the spice of life.....not all just like to lie back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Hope she goes to a good home.
