I followed your thread, can't find it now with the search function non-functional, trying to remember who you were insured with so I can add them to the shit-list. Seriously, call Shannons, took 4 business days from prang to payout for 3 separate claims I've made through them over the last 10 years, with one phone call each time.

I'm with Aami insurance.
Deffinitely changing insurer once all this is finalized. I've heard good things about Shannon's but maybe to expensive for me with age etc?

I don't know how old you are . I know that for my Trident Shannons are $230 per year, Western QBE wanted $320, so I don't think Shannons are expensive, but they won't insure anyone under 21. Were you planning on getting another Street Triple? I've not ridden one, but they always do well in the reviews and comparisons.

im in the process of claiming through insure my ride, not impressed so far.
took me a week to get in contact with someone after posting online claim notification for them to ring me, which never happened.
made three different calls waiting for over 30min then giving up and finally got through at opening time after a 15min wait.
now i have to wait for pickup agent to ring....

I spoke to Shannons about a young family friend and was told not till he's 21. This was for car insurance, is the age restriction higher for bikes?

Everybody has bad stories with insurance companies, for 21 Aami is good because of low insurance premiums, most of the other insurance companies charge like a wounded bull. After a google search, the age minimum for shannons motorbike insurance is 25

Towlybear - yeah just did a search of the Shannons site myself after reading your post. 25 year minimum age for cars or bikes, but I did talk to a rep a month ago and was told 21 (for cars at least). I guess a phone call can't hurt, I will be curious to find out myself on Monday
