Become a "Big Shot" and own your first Mercedes!
These Vans are a very popular Racer/Track Day Riders Van in Europe.
The Vito and iLoad are the only Vans with a Five Star safety rating … run into something in an ordinary van and you lose your legs.
They drive really well and being a Mercedes is loaded with features not found elsewhere. The reason I'm selling is I've upgraded to a slightly newer Vito but this time an automatic so the missus can drive it more. She's not keen on the 6 gear changes.
Standard Safety Features: ABS, EBD, Stability Control, TC, Drivers Airbag.
Other things: Climate Control Air conditioning, power windows, side door windows, tinted windows, factory cruise control and speed limiter, drive by wire throttle.
The cruise control is great for the trip to Collie down the Perth Bunbury Highway and she cruises really well at 110km/hr.
This particular vehicle has 153,000 km and I’m the second owner. It's in very good condition. The first owner was a 50 year old Leather Doctor franchisee, so all it did was collect and deliver leather furniture around the metro area. It hadn't been past Mandurah before I bought it. In the last couple of years it has had the following work done: new discs and pads front and rear, new serpentine belt, replaced the diff and gearbox oil with full synthetic and replaced the brake fluid and coolant. It’s a 6 speed manual with a 2.1 litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel with great fuel economy. It was purchased new in early 2005 and has an 11/2004 compliance plate. The vehicle is unencumbered. It has the barn doors and is LWB with a load area in the back of about 2800mm. Roof height inside is about 1450mm. A forklift can place a pallet straight in the back and it takes about 800kg.
I have installed additional soundproofing to the all the doors, the roof and under the floor.
It’s a crew cab meaning it has a salubrious 3 person removable bench seat for the rear. It’s worth knowing that if you get the “Van” only version it has a different floor pan without the threaded mounting holes for the seat. If you want to retro fit a seat it has to be an aftermarket version and needs to signed off by an Engineer and inspected at DOT. The Crew Cab has the M10 threaded holes which are very convenient for mounting the front wheel channel. There are heaps of M6 and M8 threaded holes all over the place for mounting shelves and hooks and things for all your gear.
You don’t need to worry about expensive parts as you can get most of the normal consumables out of the UK on eBay for a fraction of the cost.
Things like: oil filters, wiper blades, brake discs, brake pads, shockys, headlights, indicators, second hand parts etc. For example, I got two new rear discs and four pads from the UK delivered to my door for about $250. That was a year ago and they’re now cheaper. Oil filters were 3 No delivered to my door for about $37 ... buy them locally at $40 each.
You can PM or call me on 0434 308 214 (Scott) if you're interested.
For those of you familiar with this Van, it has been stripped of all the shelves, brackets, rear carpet, alloy wheels and nudge bar and things as I've transferred all of that to the new one. So it's all ready for the new owner to set it up the way they want. I can give a bit of guidance if you like.
You can get alloy wheels from an ML model Mercedes for less than $500 usually. I got mine from Tempe Tyres delivered for $350. They were 17 x 8 off an 2004 ML320.
I’ll be posting a heap of photos next week hopefully.
Here's a couple of photos of it loaded for the last trip to Collie:
