    Sieg C4 lathe

I'm selling my Sieg C4 lathe.

    running at 1950rpm

I've taken off the plastic chuck cover and the splashback, I still have both, however the plastic cover stops you from being able to use the faceplate and is just annoying, and the steel splashback stops you from taking the cross slide off.

In case you don't know about this lathe, its a great machine. smaller than the C6, but more powerful, heavier, digital speed control with a brushless motor, 2 axis power feeds etc. heres a review - www.mini-lathe.com

Its in great nick with heaps of extras, I'm chasing $2,000.00.

    comes with:

set of 5 carbide insert tools 10mm
quick change tool post to suit 10mm tools
    2 face plates
3 and 4 jaw chucks with inside and outside jaws
live centre with replaceable tips also dead centres
    knurling tool (never used)
    drill chuck
theres a few other bits n pieces that are too small to fit the new lathe I'm buying which will also go with it.

I've just recently replaced all the bearings to the headstock and bought extras, which will also go with the lathe.

There are a heap on here:
    https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/Bench-Lathes

Including the model shown. - They have smaller ones if your budget cant stretch that far too. Remember to take into account tool and accessory pricing too.

    single phase.

the retail is around 1900. The machinery house link above shows the sieg C3 and the sieg C6, they don't sell the C4. I bought it for 2 grand when I bought it second hand about 2 years ago, it hasn't had a lot of use, but I'm selling it with a lot more accessories. After looking at the c4 and c6 side by side I went for the more expensive C4.

The C4 is smaller than the C6, but has a pile more features - brushless motor is almost double the power of the C6, with digital speed control - C6 is belt driven for example.

unless you need the extra 40mm of swing of the C6, the C4 is the much better option. it has power feed on both axis - the C6 doesn't etc.

also forgot I have a fixed and travelling steady a wood turning attachment (fuck knows why, I got it when I bought it) parting tools, boring bar holders etc. lots of extras.

I have the Hafco AL-50GA on that website. It only gets spun up occasionally for little jobs. But, after a few years of those little jobs and reading about this C4 thing with goodies like "change speed without having to rebuild a gearbox to do it", "move the tailstock without need to dig out the right spanner first" and "being able to turn 5 inch stock without getting bogged", I just wish someone had pointed something like this out to me when I bought mine. Well worth the extra few hundred bucks.

The bench that suits this lathe is for sale around the traps, but to be honest its flimsy as and I decided to just buy a decent workbench.

No idea on the mill accessory, but like a lot of other people on here have said, you might as well just buy a separate mill if you can afford it. I can only imagine how annoying a mill / lathe combo would be. It would be very restrictive for the lathe and the mill.

I've just bought my new lathe and some of the tooling that is on here can be used on my new one so the price has a little bit more flexibility in it now. make an offer
