ktm's are fine. my 300 gets 100 hours out of piston and rings before it needs changing. my mate has a 525 and its still going strong after 200 hours on original piston rings. just need to check valves fairly often which is easy on a 525, they are even easy to adjust yourself on a 525. i think service intervals would be something like 5 hours for oil, 10 for oil filter, 15 for valves, and air filter after each ride.
also if your after a very clean 06 525 exc rockingham power sports has one. i think about buying it every time im in there.
