Old PC games
I've been doing some work at the MAD donated computer room at shents and some of the guy's there that have played solitare eleventybillion times, have requested if we can get some old games to play like command and conquer, age of empires etc, anything really.
These are not flash PC's by a long shot so cant play anything too flash. I thought i would put the word out on here before i go and buy a few of those $10 game's.
I can pick up anything offered... eventually

Command and Conquer is now free to download, officially, legally, 100% legit, etc. They released the Gold edition for free as part of the 12th anniversary of the game. A whole bunch of gaming sites are still hosting the ISOs or you could hit up your favourite torrent network, completely guilt free.
Got specs of the machines there? Do they have any kind of external connection?

Wicked, cheers Cam. I'm in tomorrow to do a few things so will get a closer look @ specs then. They have a connection donated kindly by westnet, fairly decent i believe.
There's 2 PC's in the one room (not including the mobile rig) that would be good for multiplayer if they are interested. There both on a ethernet connection, wireless is around a bit. They are working on extending the range but apparently there is alot of red tape to go through.

depending on what you're chasing, look up 'abandonware' on the interwebs.. there's all kind of legit free classic games available to download.. depending on the machine's spec's of course...

Another really, really great source of games is Popcap.com
There are free online versions of all their games and they're hugely entertaining. Purchasing them is also dirt cheap and the downloaded "paid" versions have better graphics, music, more features... they're just good, simple fun. I've probably logged a few hundred hours on Bejeweled and Peggle. Don't dismiss them too quick as "kids" games, they're stupid addictive.
Maybe even hit them up and see if they could provide some free licenses in the interest of helping a charitable organisation out?

I'd also recommend the original Grand Theft Auto. Awesome game, 100% free to download from Rockstar, and even more fun multiplayer via an ethernet cable.

That skirts awfully close to the illegal side of things.
