Check-List: RACECRAFT
Hi all, just want to pick the brains of those who have done racecraft (novice) before as to what to check/bring before hand. Bare in mind im riding up there as I dont have another means of getting the bike there so I cant be carrying jerry cans on my back and such like
I know its a bit pedantic but ..
Am wanting to know:
- Where the nearest servo is to Wanneroo Raceway
- What sort of checks I need to do before leaving
- What to take with me other than myself
If there is anything you think I should know please let me know

MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Umbrella girl...?
Have a read through the PSB trackday thread inc. scrutineering there's some good info there.. You'll find MCRC instructors very helpful to get through scrutineering and most importantly make ya bike safe for the day. I'm sure someone here will sort the petrol issue out for you if ya ask nicely . (after 20 post up saying they can't )
Get EVERYTHING you can ready the night before so all you've got to do is wake up throw backpack on and ride up.

I had 4 bottles of Gatorade and 6 bottled energy drinks I mixed up at home... I didnt feel de-hydrated at all..I only got hot when I stopped and sat down in the air conditioned "Class room" .. That and wearing Leathers all day ... I changed out of my Skins shirt after the second session as it was dripping wet..

.. also check ya bike
. bleed & adjust brakes; replace fluid, don't just do a quick bleed; the fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs water) so it get tired over time (even a short time)
. check pads, need plenty of meat on them
. fork seals, no leaks
. steering head bearings, no play
. chain tension, gotta be right not too loose or tight; lube it!
. tyres, need to be in good nick, if they're a bit past it change 'em, no point riding on a track when you will push it (eventually) more than on the road only to find the tyres too knackered to cope. Set to recommended pressures.
. change/top up water/radiator coolant, if applicable
. if there are any grease nipples on the bike pump some of the good stuff in
. lube cables (clutch/throttle) as applicable
if ya can also
. suspension, setup correctly for your weight
. engine/gearbox oil if not done recently
also doesn't hurt to run over the bike with a spanner/socket/torque wrench to make sure all the nuts & bolts are tight enough.
Yeah I know it sounds a bit anal but you wouldn't beleive wot some peeps bring up expecting to be let out on the track.
If the bike is all checked over it also inspires a bit more confidence when riding it.
