Here are some further updates on Matt. He is in a wheelchair for nearly two weeks now. He still needs to have a brace for his upper body, but with his determination and physio, he should soon have a lot more upper body strengh. Unfortunately he got a little infection on his leg due to a minor cut, but it is looked after now and should heal in due corse. Other than that, he is doing pretty good and is in good spirits. I have passed on the well wishes that are still coming in and he is slowly coming to terms with being a well known personality. thanks once more to all the well wishers and people supporting Matt and his family. I will keep you posted.

Stephan

Thanks Stephan. I may be getting ahead of myself here but wouldn't it be awesome to see him out at Kings of Wanneroo

I was looking through some of my photos the other day and came across some of Matt doing his thing.

I first met Matt in 2003 at the State Motocross round at AJS, where I took the following photos. Matt hosed everyone in every race and made it look oh so easy. A few days later I dropped into Five Star to meet him personally and gave him a copy of the photos. Matt was very humble and almost a little embarrassed at the fuss. I hope Matt doesn’t mind that I share the photos with all on PSB.

Good on ya Matt

Just another quick update on Matt. He has been home for a day on the weekend and will be home during the following weekend too. He won`t as yet stay over night, but that will happen as the doctors see fit. His spirits are up and it gets a bit better every day.
Just on a quick note regarding the media. Some of the people who saw the crash have been contacted by TV stations for interviews about the crash. The family would rather people not talk about it and let Matt do the talking. It would be highly apreciated if his wishes would be respected. Thanks...

I can't wait for the opportunity to meet Matt. I'm new here so i didn't know him before the accident. Sounds like one inspirational cat. I'm so glad to hear that he is doing well. A supportive family and a strong will make all the differance.

Thanks for the updates Stephan.

For a small club there is an awesome sense of community here. It seems like Matt is a big part of that.

Hmm, there could only have been 4 or 5 people see it who weren't busy racing a motorbike...
I'd be surprised if the media were to track down little ol' me, but if they do, mum's the word!

It's really great to hear of Matt's steady advances, hope his recovery continues to progress well.
Great pics too Andy!
