I didn't really want to resurect an old and painfull memory but I actually saw this accident...well...the aftermath anyway!!!

That night i was actually down in Mandurah taking a friend home and i got a call at 2:48am from another work collegue and her house mate were crying on the phone..."Are you ok"?! They actually thought it was me because when she was ringing me his phone went of at the same time!!! Talk about freaky!!!
They thought it was me that crashed coz I just brought my new bike 3 days before the accident and I live 5 streets away.

I drove all the way from Mandurah back to their place and the body was still laying there on the road. The road was all blocked off and they wouldn't let anyone pass. I had a chat with the police officer and asked if i can see my friends coz they lived there and he let me pass through. He told me that the estimated speed was over 200km/h!!! That corner is decieving during the day let alone at night. I ended up parking the car and walking past the bike...then past his remains, bent light pole/wire and personal belonging scattered over the road.

The girls were actually the first on the scene seeing as though it happened at their front door step and ran up to him to offer assistance as he was still alive. I don't want to go into too much detail but lets just say he wasn't all intact and it was not a pretty site when i walked past and hour after the accident let alone when they got to him!!!

For the first couple of nights they were really freaking out so I stayed at their place for the next 2 weeks with all the lights turned on. They were really shook up about the whole incident and couldn't sleep....they looked like zombies coz they couldn't get a good night sleep. They ended up going to counciling sessions etc etc.

Only reason im posting this is for two reason:
1. Hopefully this will outline the importance that there is a time and place for 200km/h....the race track!!!
2. I hope nobody see what i saw that night especially the family members.
There are a lot of people that care for "you"!!!

My condolances go to the family and friends and please...PLEASE....ride smart and stay safe!!!

sorry to be bringing up this topic so late after it happened but only living off rockingham road makes me feel somewhat connected(I live 2 minutes from where it happened). I still remember the morning after. about 5 in the morning I was at gull servo, fueling up to go for a boog and there was still mess everywhere. The cashier told me what masterA already said. 200 km/h didnt negotiate the bend( easy enough to do on 4 wheels let alone 2 and at an nth of the speed.) Struck home to me because I had only had my first m/c lesson the day before and opened my eyes to the risk of 2 wheels.

RIP mate(a bit belated, but needed to be said) Hope one day the carnage of our roads ceases to be.
