Chad was by far my favourite guy in the Perth bike industry. I always like to think we had a lot in common. I got the news on Wednesday afternoon while I was at Phillip Island and it really did hit me quite a bit. I spoke to him on the phone less than two weeks previous and he sounded terrible so I knew things had taken a turn for the worse so was perhaps prepared a tiny bit but it did still affect me greatly. Bryan Staring was at the Island too and he was certainly struck by it. I know it certainly made me question my own mortality numerous times also on Thursday when riding at the Island. Late on Thursday afternoon I then left the Island to ride back to Perth in two days on a 2006 Fireblade. Again in the middle of nowhere with lots to think about Chad's passing was again reminding me not too take too many risks as we all have so much to live for. During that ride I often thought of how many times he would have called me a dickhead for doing that ride, LOL. Attached is a pic of Chad at Phillip Island last November when he went over the last round of the Aussie Superbikes.

A very sad day, A very nice guy.
I remember him flying around on the sp1 at my first track day, he sure could move, and a top guy to chat with to boot.

Was a huge turnout for Chad's funeral this afternoon, as I expected. Would hardly have been a worker left in any bike shop or distributors warehouse in town I reckon. Glad I went.

I can't believe it's been a year, since we said goodbye to Chad. I have met him a few times when riding with Bry and a few other's.
He was a big guy with a big Heart. Loved by all who knew him.
Hopefully he able to ride his bike in the sky.
Sadly Missed

I had the pleasure of knowing Chad for a few years but unfortunately, I have been living abroad for the past 4 years and didn't realise he was sick!
My heart felt condolences to Chad's family. He truly was a great guy with the biggest heart! I will always have fond memories of sleeping on a floor at Philip Island in 99, betting on who was going to take out the race and having a few (perhaps to many) drinks to celebrate nothing but the fact we were there having a great time!
Rest in Peace Chad!
