Put on those inverted mirrors that some one posted on here not too long ago. They looked kinda cool and if you can get indicators in the inverted mirrors....

Man, thats awesome. Love projects.
You could do some really cool stuff if you want mate.
If you need help with anything, because you may need to fabricate some parts and paint some parts, make sure you post up in here AND make yourself known in Aus Streetfighters because theres a few WA guys on there that can fabricate ALOT of cool stuff.

yeah at this point just doing the really basic lights/mirror/indicator
phase two will involve a lot of custom stuff, because you just cant buy this stuff for a gpx - theres probably a reason for that, but i'm a little bit eccentric when it comes to these things

If I was looking at building a high-end 'fighter, I'd be looking at AuSFR, because they stock better quality parts, and tend to steer clear from the cheaper bits.
One of the main points in your build seems to be that you aren't really interested in blowing a heap of coin on it, so if I were you, I'd be looking towards eBay.
For mirrors:
I had a pair of these for a while (before I busted them ). I didn't get them from that exact store, but they were that type of mirror. They're definitely not as good as the CRG ones, but they're about 1/3 of the price. Simply search eBay for "Bar End Mirrors", and you'll find a heap.
One thing with them, if you get them, you need to pull the glass out straight away, and put a dob of silicone behind it. This stops the glass from vibrating around, and eventually, out of the holder.
For headlights:
I was looking at a similar setup, but ended up going with an Acerbis unit instead. Again, eBay has them cheaper. Search for "Dominator Headlight" and you should pull up a few. Usually they come without brackets though, which I was finding was often the expensive part.
It wasn't until a few months after I'd bought a different headlight, that I found out Steve from RatedR had some brackets to suit, for heaps cheaper than I could find anywhere else. Might be worth dropping him an email.
Anyway, hope that helps

That helps a lot, thanks. I can save about 50 odd bucks by getting the same lights from the UK.
Youre right in saying i dont wanna blow a great deal of coin, but i dont want it to be cheap and shitty either. so ill try to avoid 'carbon-look' finish bits
Those bar end mirrors look like a go-er, theres a few like them that reckon they are only for suzukis or some such shite, but theyre pretty much identical - reckon there would be a difference?
Do you have the email address for steve at ratedr?

Yeah, totally agree with the "carbon look" shite, but most of those parts come with a plain black option.
The different tags on them, for the different manufacturers, is only so they get hits when people are searching for them, AFAIK. The main thing is that you have 7/8" clip-ons/bars, which pretty much all Jap bikes have. So as long as you don't buy any that specify Harley (1" bars), you should be golden.
I can't remember his exact email address, but you can contact him through his eBay store- eBay Australia Shop - RatedR Custom Motorcycle Parts: SUZUKI Hayabusa GSXR TL1000R SV650 SV1000 TL1000S, YAMAHA R1 R6 R7
He's pretty good at replying to emails quickly.

Those actually looks better than anything I've seen. Nice find.
Should hopefully fit the twin headlights, provided the gap is wide enough.

are you gonna change the instrament cluster or keep that stock, an have you thought about going from the twin pipes into a 2 to 1 like barfridge had on his gpx i think that was a full muzzy system nice note too, not sure you might be able to get a two brothers for it

For now, I'm keeping stock instruments - I may change out the LED's inside to give it a different glow colour though.
I've thought only briefly on exhausts, I do like the idea of the 2 into 1, but I may even have something custom made for me, maybe underbody, not sure yet.
This is all down the track though.

Lights arrived, as did the mirrors, so I've started stripping parts off my bike.
Mirrors, Indicators, Front Fairing comes off.
Its about this time that I realised that I have a problem - I was going to try to keep my stock dash for the time being, but they mount to the frame through a bracket that fits through the forks, so my lights would collide with them when turning. So - off they came.
And if you ask me, it looks shit hot naked.
So - that's where its at now. I need a new dash. Anyone got any suggestions? What's good?

Vapor: Motorcycle/ATV Tachometer Speedometer at Trail Tech Home
-Probably one of the cheaper dash units out there. Decent quality, and easy enough to wire up.
Can you move your clip-ons, or are they welded to the top triple?
They'd look better twisted out a bit, if possible.

Yeah, that Vapor looks like a go, was looking at that earlier.
The bracket that holds each bar does not swivel/is not adjustable at all, there's not really anything I can do about that horrible angle without getting very drastic.

Ok, some more questions for you experts:
This is the plug for the headlights I ordered. This makes me happy, because it just goes straight into the female end that I already have on my bike, and is fully functional (low beam, high beam, etc.)
However, also connected to these lights are these two wires, with bullet connectors. Best I can figure, i'd use these to connect to an alarm if I wanted them to flash, or perhaps one of those headlight flasher thingys (i had the correct term in my head when I started typing this email, but its gone now). Am i right? Or does anyone know better than me?
I'll probably just wind up zip-tying them off somewhere safe, if I definitely dont need them.
The other thing is, the bolts I had for my bar end weights, and the bolts that came with my bar end mirrors, are the same length - see pic (original bolt) - which is too long for the mirror on its own, but too short for the mirror PLUS the bar end weight.
I went to Bunnings and to Odin Auto Parts (i felt sure Odins could help me out, but no love) so at this point if I cant find something long enough to go thru both the bar end weight and the mirror bracket, i'm going to have to cut one of these puppies down.
Anyone on here know where I could get a similar bolt to above, its an 8mm, about 40mm long... the bolt I'd need would have to be in the vicinity of 60mm long, with a phillips or allen head, and that countersink is essential too. Theres a few people here that work at Coventries, yeah? Anyone reckon they know where to get something like this?
I've ordered that Vapor computer kit, plus the dashboard housing with the idiot lights, from ebay, and the guy reckons he can supply to Aus in approx 5 business days. So I should have them by Friday, or possibly Monday. At which point, i'd love someone to throw some tools around with me and see if we cant rig that bitch up.
