Dash Swap??
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to swap the dash in a cbr250rr to something like from a 600rr?

Your first issue would simply be size constraints, then you have to look at things like taco and odo pickups, temp pickups, ect. Yout best bet would be to go for an aftermarket dash like an acewell, kusco or veypour

 no, no, no.
Don't make it harder to sell the 250 when you're ready to upgrade to a real bike.
Don't pour money into it now which you will never recover.
Just look at how long it took for rudleo to offload his VTR. He ignored our advice and blinged that thing. Yes it was hot, no he never got the money back, nowhere near it. And yes, it took ages to sell a VTR. Why? Because everyone looked at it and said "sweet looking vtr, but I can pick one up for $3000 less".
Be patient, save the $$, upgrade when you get your R class license. I know it's a pain and the hours just crawl backwards, but seriously? Belt fuck out of that thing, ride it like a two dollar hoor, then get rid of it and spend all this hypothetical-bling-money on a better bike and bling for THAT one.
ps not hating on the concept. It might be cool. But it won't be worth the pain.

After alls said an done you still have to figure out how the speedo will be driven, ie cable, elec, hall sensor, ect. Also you have to suss out your temp sensors. Then you need a wiring diagram, and start a splicing your loom.

Don't buy it now, and put that 280 towards one of these.

in my defense.. true i didnt ever get the money back but i also actually didnt lose that much money by blinging it. it was well looked after, i never dropped it, modding that bike was awesome fun for me and in the end it sold for a decent price which i was happy to see it go for.
i dont think two months is aages to offload a bike. for one, it is the middle of winter. and look at some of the other stock vtr's still up for sale here..
not hatin on you CS, just dont entirely agree with what u posted. if it brings u enjoyment and u can justify spending the dosh, i say go for it..

You are not helping my argument here, rudleo. STFU please.
That thing was pretty, though.

CBR250RR..... Cable driven speedo..... 600RR is electronic sensor speedo.... If you managed to get around that you may be able to do it, however there is also a lot of other things that would be different between the two.... include the fact that the sensors currently used to run a lot of the other parts of the gauge on the 600RR would be different as well.
You probably could do it, but it wouldn't be a simple swap, and you would also find you would have to buy a lot of other things as well to make sure that things like oil pressure sensor, fuel light, rpm etc would work.

If you were realy keen id look as a cusco rx1? . It looks almost exaclt like what you posted up, is about the same price and isnt bike model specific. It would use a hall sensor for the speedo and odo, you would need to play around with your temp sensors, but nothing too hard.

First problem I can think of is the tacho on the 600RR wouldn't read high enough. The 600 redlines at 15,000, where you can get 18,000 out of the 250.

Michael! As CS said just thrash it for a year, save your money, then start doing proper mods on your big bike!

$280 might seem "cheap", but its a loan repayment on a 16k+ bike... or 13 tanks of fuel or so...
2c... but for your 250 - spend less time blinging and more time riding it.
Just ride it as much as you can in all weather.... any time you spend rooting around in the garage with it is time better spent practicing... imho
