I really wanted to see Rossi get on a Duc man...that woulda been a site to see!

Not a yamaha! No offense or nething! *

Would have been awesome to see a few Rossi Replica Ducati's on the road.
What surpriced me was Ducati never at any stage talked to him or made him an offer. :?
Must be happy with what they have got (team & riders)

Um.. what?

They offered him $15m/year... they even had some Ducati & Malboro execs at the Spanish GP! After $15m/year they pulled out. Bear in mind their budget is only EUR30m/year..

When we were over at Philip Island Dion spoke to a couple of his old team / work mates, there words were DUCATI HAVE NOT SPOKEN TO OR MADE ANY OFFERS TO ROSSI! Yamaha are the front runners. Until Rossi signs with someone no contracts will be signed.
We then asked what about all the stuff in the papers about Ducati and Rossi, He said ITS ALL BULLSHIT as we speak they have not spoken to each other.
So go figger!!!

Calvin: I find that disturbingly hard to believe..! But who knows, the world is a strange place and maybe it is true. I mean, it's not as if Ducati are going to send a fax to Yamaha HQ saying "we're going to Rossi $15m, please don't bid $17.5m otherwise we might lose him".

Racing's a strange world, and who knows - maybe Ducati are satisified that Capirossi & Bayliss are getting as much as they can out of the new bike.. though IMHO they'd be crazy not to want the world's best rider in recent memory. Anything's possible...

I'm keen to see who Aprilia are going to ride with - after all, Rossi said he's doing "something crazy". I know there's a seat left at Kawasaki (I believe McCoy has left, Pitt stays) and Aprilia (Haga & Edwards left, Byrne has signed). No idea on whether or not Suzuki are retaining Hopkins & Roberts... similarly, Rossi could even end up on a Proton! From one V5 to another.

True in what your saying. Ducati and Yamaha are not going to inform each other on whats going on!
But just like Dion has contacts still in Moto GP so do others, and some people that work for one team have mates in other teams, and thats how information gets out prior to release!
Pretty simple
Dion has not worked for Red bull Yamaha for 4 to 5 years and same goes for TSR, but still rings them up and stays in contact. By doing this he keeps the door open for further job offers (like this year).
Remember this rumour hour this time of year for GP & Superbikes. :?
