Xaus to d'Antin Ducati MotoGP in 2004

Looks like the Crash King himself has scored a ride..

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

XAUS WILL MAKE HIS DEBUT IN MOTOGP

With Neil Hodgson´s official announcement, we are pleased to inform that the Spanish rider, Ruben Xaus, will also be joining our team.

Hodgson´s thirty year experience and Xaus´s gains, only 25 years old, allows the team to start this new challenge with ambition and great confidence on its possibilities, being that both are the reigning Superbike World Champion and runner-up, and that they have outstanded with Ducati. Neil and Ruben were team-mates last season and will go on doing so in MotoGP, riding the Desmosedici in the only Ducati factory satellite team, in the motorcycle main category.

They will be testing their new bikes on December 10th, 11th and 12th, on the Valencia circuit.

Ruben Xaus: “ I’m excited with the new challenge and would like to personally thank Luis d´Antin for counting on me. I’m going to give it all, 200% for him and for the team. I’m happy to be on Spanish team and to continue with Neil, I have a good relationship with him and off the tracks we respect each other. I’ve been with Ducati for the past 4 years and I’m pleased to keep on, but until now I haven’t had the opportunity of trying the GP bike and I’m looking forward to it.”

Luis d´Antin : “I’m pleased and satisfied to have Neil and Ruben with us next year. Both are great charm and the whole team will do their best to have everything ready for them. I have great on both and if we observe this season’s results of other riders that come from superbikes, I truly believe that we can expect the best of both.”

I won't be surprised if Xaus is quicker than
hodgson but the consistency isn't there

What a Joke!! We are pleased to have him in our team! what a bunch of two faced dicks!!
Only a month or two ago, told him he was going AMA, then the rider they wanted (due to sponsorship reasons etc) did not happen so they call on Rubin.

I still rate Rubin higher than Hodgson, like Ben said consistency will be the problem.
